Epic and lush is an apt description. Moves easily and captures you with introspection and ambient orchestration. Nicely woven lyrics and vocals wrap the senses in a blanket of sound that transport and uplift. Nice work gentlemen.
Fine work, guys! Welcome to MP3Unsigned! EQUASIONS rings with dynamic force and rich harmonic beauty. The recurring chorus with palpitating sixteen-beat on the high-hat is very effective. I look forward to listening to your other offerings.
Awake! Awake! began in the spring of 2007 with five college friends in Murfreesboro, TN joining forces to craft a handful of indie rock songs. David Johnson and Andrew Goodwin, the primary songsmiths from the start, quickly realized they had a strong chemistry; Andrew created rich soundscapes and driving rock riffs while David followed with fully fleshed-out lyrics and melodies. Their 9-song debut album We've Been Strangers came together quickly, fully recorded by the end of that summer and released in the early fall.
The band then followed up with Bittersweet Horizon, their 11-track sophomore effort, in 2010, determined to mature their songwriting craft and create a more cohesive record, largely rooted in the New Wave sounds of the late 70's and early 80's.
Several line-up changes followed within the next few years until the future of the band ultimately settled solely on the songwriting core of Johnson and Goodwin. Though now with families and full-time jobs, the duo charged forward with a keen interest in evolving their sound and growing their platform in a myriad of ways. Working with directors to develop film scores and taking an interest in filmmaking themselves, their sound began to concentrate even more on the atmospheric and cinematic.
With Future Fire, the band's third studio effort, Awake! Awake! further fused both their love of melodic rock anthems and their theatrical sensibilities to create music that challenged and encouraged themselves. They hope their listeners will feel the same way.
