I started playing piano when I was about 6 years old and apparently, was always doing something to get a tune out of anything. My first real musical awakening was when I was taken to see Oasis at the tender age of 10 at the Beach Park in Irvine and that's when I realised what music does to people. I picked up a guitar at around 16 and basically haven't stopped playing since. My song writing usually has me as my own worse critic, because I always look for meaning in songs and I guess I always try to produce something that someone somewhere can relate to. For me a good song has to have the good melody, but also lyrics that can stand alone without the music and if people can read the words and understand them, then you know you got good content.

John Lennon was a major influence on me from when I was young. I was always amazed at how simple but effective his songs were and still are. Plus, I thought there must've been something about him when the whole world stopped the day he was killed. Not bad for a working class hero. I strongly believe that if he hadn't been a musician, we wouldn't have had some of the great artists that came to follow after him. Great musician, fantastic songwriter and the reason why I keep on playing.
