My name is Henri Oskar Klungland, and I was born in 1988 on 16th September, in Norway, but I was christened in Finland. (I'm half norwegian/half finnish!
I don't have any musical background, besides singing in a choir at the age of... 4-6? But that isn't very useful, for the way I make my music now...

I first started listening to electronic music, when I heard Darude's Sandstorm on MTV... By then I already had a bit of experience with eJay, at my school...
I remember fiddling around with the old Rave eJay or Hip Hop eJay, oh how the days have passed by...
Anyways... I got myself Dance eJay 2, and made my first 'real' mix, named 'Sandstorm' (ooo, what a surprise, lol!)
I started out with music producing as a hobby, but after a while it turned slowly into something I really wanted to do.
I got the new Techno eJay 2 (Well... It was new at that time, anyways! :P), and started to make better tracks, but I still wasn’t that happy with how they turned out.
I got better after a while, and learned more when I joined the fabulous eJay community (I'm still a member, and I post now and then). I learnt a lot from listening to tracks there...
But one day I suddenly heard tracks made from samples I'd never heard before, and later I found out that those tracks weren't made with eJay...
I got curious and found out that they were made with programs like Fruity Loops. I downloaded a demo, but I didn't understand a thing about it... All too complicated, lol! But I didn't give up that easy, and I made my first melody with it.
I still used eJay for sequencing though, and I asked someone to make the main melody for the track (Kameleon, now known as Kamiiliion)... And that's how 'Elements' was born!
I had a break from Fruity Loops, and made more tracks with eJay for a while. But then I decided that I should learn Fruity Loops properly!
My first attempt on a pure Fruity track, would be 'KB Pirates' - A theme I made for our local basketball team. (And it got played during the breaks in the match!)
However... That must have been the worst track I've ever made with Fruity, followed closely by 'The Gates Of Hell'...
I learnt from my mistakes, and made 'Joy'! (That track came in 2nd place in a summer competition, held by an eJay member!)
At that time, I was about 14 years old, or so... I had made ok tracks in the past, but then I finally could make good tracks!
'To Exist' was born in late summer, and it got quite a good response.
The reason of it being so low in volume, is that I made it on a laptop on holidays in Finland, with not so good speakers, so I had to keep the volume down, so that I didn’t ruin the speakers, lol!
I had another break from music creation, when I finally came back I made 'Aphrodite' and 'Winter Morning'...
Winter Morning was actually just an experiment track, nothing serious, but when I had finished it, I decided to upload it anyways...
At that time, I was known under my alias; dj diablo, but soon realized that it was unoriginal... An English friend I had chatted with for the past year (Strife), always called me a great lemon, so I thought... Why not? So I am now known under the alias, T.G.L, which stands for The Great Lemon!
The question is though…. Have I got better at producing music in the past year? You decide! |
