Melancholy Rain
Beautiful string intro with the rain and pizzicato. The title fits the melancholy feel of the music, so sad in places but very well done. Thumbs..
No if you live where I live. Sometimes it drones on for weeks, but then when the sun comes...Ahhh. This is such a haunting piece, melancholy and quite the piece befitting a soundtrack. Your work always surprises me in a myriad of ways. This is an interesting, somber, and somewhat lonely piece with the violin solo. It brings visuals of Scottish hills into mind and the lonely desolate stretches that seem to be haunted with history that stretches back into time for eons. Could see you easily expanding on this and developing it much further, but its well worth the listen. : )

Should I swap the rain for the -30 and snow? Of course! Great ode to the rain. The strings have a grand natural vibrato...pressure-sensitive function? After-touch? Whatever the technical explanation of the software...the sound is lush and gorgeous...as melancholic as you can get. Of course, a real cello in the melodic mix would be sweet ;) Fantastic orchestration for this, Pete. A sweet sadness about it all...loved the long-bowed sustains and movement , judicious use of pizzicato...perfect! Thumbs!
This is very impressive Peter,the violin just sings to me with words.The orchestral sounds are fab (vst??) the chord arrangement on the string section are wonderful...mmm reason 4 orchestra sounds methinks now..maybe. Just simply stunning the emotion and timing.Kudos.
I love the rain but not all the time. What a beautiful lonely piece. Another thing I love. The subject of loneliness. What would I have done without the rainy seasons and the feeling of truly being alone. "Oh what conjures these words I bleed on. Passion delivers me up like a sad cello on a long rainy night full of tears and raindrops and no one know the difference". Thank you Peter.
I'm a very amateur musician down here in the leafy south west of England. My favourite genre would have to be ambient electronica / dark ambient; a preference fashioned by listening to many hours of early Tangerine Dream / Jarre / Eno / Budd / Fripp / Tomita etc in my formative years. I find this music as evocative as any classical work. Wearyall Hill made No.1 in the Official Chart for which I'm grateful. I'm in awe of some of the talent on this site and could never aspire to compete with it, but I'm grateful for all the wonderful music I've found here and the generosity of composers in allowing us to download so much.
I'm now finding new pleasure in the challenges of orchestration' enjoying a growing number of collaborations with wonderful singer songwriters. If you're into collaborations or you're doing something similar in my neck of the woods it would be great to hear from you.
