Luck is an Attitude (2015 remixed)
a little more of a Latino feel to this indeed...snappy little rhythmic flourishes...enjoyed the re-vamp...nice stereo placement of parts..homage to Herb Alpert included in the brass...liked that too , Phil :)
I can tell you had a lot of fun writing/recording this nice percussive/melodic track. Couldn't stop my feet from tapping. Great work; well done.
Nice to hear this re-mix, Phil...it is an "anytime is the right time" to listen piece...piano motif glues this...would be nice to hear some Native Instruments in there (synthy brass)...still, what you have drawn on in the arrangement is superb...beats and rhythms have a strong feel-good factor..liked those little string pizzicato's off to the left...actually you have a lot of ear candy..enjoyed a Sunday morning easy listening :) !
This is a beautiful anytime listen and very well done. Easy thumbs!
Back for more, this is a delight!
Love this. Lovely clean production and beautiful piano melody. Coolio. Rated. Cheers, Smudgie
Good work dude - I wasn't taken immediately by the oh-so-simple piano motif but you built on it and pulled me in. The brass stabs are really cool I might add. I like the little "organ-sounding" counter melody thing going on too. It's probably not an organ but who cares LOL. Thumzup
Nice track! Love the groove! Really well produced and arranged as well. Great work! Thumbs
Very easy on the ears.Chilled combi of musical styles. Another descending motif...on the ivories and clean sounding production :)
agreed
This is a classy sequence. The percussion melds nicely with the other elements of your composition. Given the perpetual drive of this composition, I believe it would serve well as a soundtrack for an animation project; maybe something like the stop-motion work we see in Sledgehammer from Peter Gabriel.
clean clear solid attitude not lucky
Its ok if you want to give your keyboard a name, ha ha. "Luck" is a great tune, love the descending piano notes, strings and brass stabs, pads low in the mix add warmth, lovely sub melody over to the left, synth i'm guessing, not sure what sound it represents but its nice. Enjoyed and rated. Gibbo
to clarify my previous comment. My Yamaha isn't called Terry !
Really nice tune. Excellent music . Love to hear piano like this. All the best. Johnny O
Guy, thanks for your great comments, it's always great to get feedback (no pun intended :). Terry the Yamaha is great ... mostly 90% of the voices are GM but there are 12 or so that stand out as top class VST type sounds. The only thing I don't use is the percussion as it's not very configurable, just lots of patterns. So I now create all percussion in an Android App (G-Stomper) that is really rich and has lead me to an appreciation of drums and percs that I didn't have before. This piece gave me lots of technical issues with latency in my laptop and I spent an age trying to get everything in line. (Think i got there in the end:) I enjoy the immediacy of 'laying down a track' direct to the mixer though, like it used to be, it keeps me honest. Rather than using the keyboard as a controller. Cheers Phil
Hi Phil, thanks for the gear notes in your artist comments...had to watch a youtube video demonstrating the MM6 to see what it was you are using...wow!...got yourself quite a workstation loaded with top quality features...and I can tell you are having fun with all those knobs and buttons too :D...explains why I hear a creative outpouring in your music. In here, the title caught my eye, while the genre caught my ear...trying everything...good for you...piano lines are great...synth sweeps...nice percs, brass and strings too...enjoyed this slice of chill :) New logo...roll of the dice...cool visual for the track..Luck? create your own :) Thumbs!
Light and upbeat, the piano melodies are a delight. The brass is a nice touch, sounds really good in the mix. Enjoyed several listens, thumbs up!
Nice mellow dance track - great piano sound with an interesting array of instrumentation in support. It really held my attention. Very creative. Rated. John & Paul
Hi,
I have played the piano a long time now, I was classically trained from the age of 6 and sold my soul to Blues and Jazz at the age of 14. ♦
I've played in a number of bands, from rock to soul, funk, jazz & blues. Recorded in some great studios and toured extensively throughout the UK and Scandinavia, many years ago. ♦
I enjoy composition, improvisation and music in any number of styles with an eclectic taste in what I enjoy listening to. I've recently started playing regularly again and writing and recording music, originally just to hear what my improvisations sound like when recorded, but now I find how much I enjoy writing and composing all over again. ♦
I really enjoy the ego-free zone, energy, inspiration & talent on this site. ♦
I compose with ..
Yamaha MM6 keyboard
Ableton Live9
Dell laptop
Sennheiser headphones d(".")b
Arturia Analogue Lab and Minilab
EWQL Gold
Drums tracks composed on G-Stomper & Ableton
& A dash of inspiration
I hope you enjoy listening, constructive comments are always welcome :...
Thanks
