THEBANDBILLCLIVEMATTJONPHIL Adrenochrome started off, like most bands, a little wobbly. Only us more so than others. The first incarnation of the band was formed around spring 2004 and featured Clive and Matt on guitar, and a girl called Becs on bass. The name Adrenochrome, inspired by a scene from “Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas” came about immediately. We spent the next few months playing Faith No More covers with an endless list of different singers and drummers, but none of them were right for us, and after a frustrating few months we decided to give the band a break. At the end of the year we met a man called Jon, who played the drums, and it quickly became clear he was the man we were looking for. Him and Becs came up with the idea of doing funky, dancey, hardcore rock. Clive then carefully selected a few songs from his extensive catalogue of material that fitted the bill, and at the same time created some new ones. Before we knew it we had a full set of material and were ready to rock. Then Becs left. It was a real shame to see her go as she was a founding member of the band and had a good influence on our musical style. Her craziness is sadly missed. Amazingly, we only took a few days to find a new bass player, in the form of Bill. He was able to lay down some phat and funky bass lines and did wonders for the band's sound. But one vital ingredient was still missing - A singer. Following a few more auditions, a man called Phil joined the band. Initially he offered to fill the position temporarily, but upon hearing how much we rocked, he soon changed his mind. He was just the man we needed. Just one month later we were ready to start gigging. Adrenochrome now plays lots of gigs across the whole of East Anglia, and have recently completed work on our first demo. And the rest, as they say, is the future, or something...
