Robert Kelly was born on December 1st, 1980. In the state of California. Thanks to his father's sales job, his family moved to Utah. Robert met a new friend, Chris Giles (Topher), in freshman year English. The two would become quick friends. And they would eventually form a band together with Robert's younger brother, Josh Kelly. The band's name would be a dedication to Robert's favorite band, Colors. So together they named themselves Rain in 2001, the name of Colors first song.
Rain quickly released an album called "Embracing The Storm". The album would soon be written off as something that never existed. It did manage to sell over 50 copies, before being deemed unlistenable by the band. The band did very few concerts and returned to studio when they realized they had grown into their instruments together. They released a new album which was their first official album in 2002. (Only deemed "Official" because someone else did the printing of the cd cover) "Somewhere In Between" sold almost all 100 copies made. Rain would sadly disperse, due to a job opening for Topher in California. All future shows were cancelled, and reprints of "Somewhere In Between" seemed unreasonable. So the band was officially over, but hopefully someday their talents will re-emerge them together. Having missed all the excitement of music, Robert decided to continue. He would now go solo and do his own shows and cd's. Recording in his basement, Robert thrived to make great songs by himself.
