Whilst the boys are now having a well deserved break following their second tour of New Zealand which wound up News Years Eve in Cromwell, Queenstown, the band is close to tying up a music deal with an Australian Adult Entertainment Movie Company that will see its music launched worldwide. Smart Artists new single, Dead or Alive's 1980's hit 'You spin me right round' has now been picked up by radio stations along the eastern states, regional areas and in New Zealand. Smart Artists (Colloseus Entertainius) were formed some time after lunch on October 22 2002. This four-piece band (also available as a duo) takes carefully selected, well known tunes and injects them with a freshness and a spark. The result is a unique, instantly infectious brand of rock with hooks that keep repeating in your head hours after hearing them. On the 'live front' the boys promise you one 'helluva' great night out covering some of the great songs from the 70's through to the 'naughties'. The songs span the age barrier and this is one of the key factors in the band's popularity….. everyone enjoys the music, the gags and the good vibes the boys put across. Smart Artists start the night with some laid back, 'cruisy' classics ..… just to ease you in to the night and get you in the mood for what is about to follow. Tunes from Powderfinger, U2, Foo Fighters, Stereophonics, The Beatles, Peter Frampton, ZZ Top plus many more…all certain to revive and re-ignite memories from those parties of ill repute. Guitarist Peter Hall sums it up like this . … " Since our first release "Route 66", the band's sound has continued to evolve into a powerhouse of hooks and melodies, laced with the crunchy guitars. This is evident on all releases including "Does your mother know", I Got A Woman, "Love Potion No. 9" and our latest single "You spin me right round". When you go to a Smart Artists gig it's quite evident that the boys aim is for you to become a walking, talking testimonial about the band and the night you've just had. For entertainment managers, Smart Artists is a dram come true. The genuine article, a proven ‘classic rock band’ without the "attitude". On time, on brief and in tune with the real and varying needs of each and every venue, Smart Artists provide that "big act" feel. The band released its debut album in December 2007, and features a batch of catchy, foot-tapping tunes. The album "Never Too Late" is an absolute powerhouse, containing an explosion of the band's original material plus all the previous and potential radio hits. It's fair to say that audiences from along the east coast of Australia through to the Northern Territory's mining town of Gove/Nulumbuy and throughout New Zealand's South Island are witness to one of the regions finest cover bands for many years. Richmond Valley Radios 88.9 FM's Roger Wood rates Smart Artists as 'one of the best covers acts he has seen'. Radio ZZZ 100.9 FM describes Smart Artists as 'the regions No.1 covers band'.
