Seven Story Drop:
Jeff Current - vox
Kelly Panter - gtr
Eric White - gtr
Chris Dietz - bass
Steve Allen - drums
Seven Story Drop blends dynamics and emotion into a modern rock sound that has helped to make this band one of Dallas's premier headlining acts. Formed in 2000 by Current and Dietz, SSD began playing the Dallas Deep Ellum and Arlington music scenes. The self-titled EP was recorded in 2001 and featured early fan favorites "Mother Theresa" and "Stuck".
The exit of the original drummer and lead guitarist allowed SSD to find drummer Steve Allen and guitarist/songwriter Kelly Panter in 2002. The improved lineup quickly began working on writing new song material and focusing on the band's new direction and sound. SSD entered the studio in the fall of 2003 to record it's first full-length album with Alex Gerst of Indian Trail Studios. The album, titled 'Gravity', was released independently in January of 2004 and brought the band both regional and national attention from industry insiders and music fans. Two singles, "Last Man Standing" and "Thank You (For The Song)", were featured on Dallas' 97.1 The Eagle's Local Show with Robert Miguel. Miguel began including the band on many of his showcases featuring many of the top local and regional bands. The album was nominated for 3 awards in the Local Awards sponsored by Screamformedallas.com. SSD was nominated for best Rock album of the Year, best Rock band of the Year, and Outstanding Acoustic Performance of the Year. The increased attention helped to establish SSD as one of the newest up-and-coming headliners in the Dallas Deep Ellum club scene.
Guitarist Eric White was added in December 2004 to be the final piece to the band's lineup. The band recently finished recording 3 new tracks with producer Eric Delegard at his studio, Reel Time Audio, in Denton, TX.
The EP will be released in summer 2005.
