Aaron Peters Aaron Peters is an award winning singer/songwriter/performer living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His music has appeared on several CBC television series.(The Rez, Man Alive) He has written theme music for various television productions.(Green Thumb Television, First Nations, Living In The City) and has performed on countless television programs nationally. The most notable of these appearances was the half-hour CBC documentary “Just Like Rain” that chronicled the tempestuous formative years of Aaron’s life. Peters has released(2)independent CD’s, Shot(4)music videos, received feature play in various radio markets, MUCHMUSIC, BRAVO NETWORK, toured like a maniac, opening shows for the INDIGO GIRLS’ Honour the Earth Tour, BUFFY SAINT MARIE and CLAUDE MCKENZIE of KASHTIN. He also sang both the American and Canadian National anthems at the Winnipeg Stadium.
Aaron has a vocal range that must be heard to be believed. He can croon in a rumbling CRASH TEST DUMMIES baritone,(comparisons to Scott Stapp of CREED and Eddie Vedder of PEARL JAM are not uncommon) or wail in a fever pitch falsetto that would make both Axl Rose of GUNS N’ ROSES and Dan McCaffery of NAZARETH very proud, if not a little envious. As well, Aaron’s guitar work is of merit. At home in an unplugged acoustic setting with full harmonies intact or on stage with a full on four piece rock band, Peters’ guitar work is always a sight to see, feel and hear. With his wide ranging vocal ability, guitar work that shines ever so brightly and songs that grab hold and change the listener, Aaron Peters is definitely the real deal. Through out the year his award winning “Perfect Crime” video is shown in Winnipeg schools as part of their cultural awareness curriculum. As well as in New York State at Cornell University, An Ivy League university in Ithaca, and Corning Community College in Corning, NY. Yet, with all his accomplishments there is always a conflict within this performer. His hard rock roots that scream him to the heights of hockey arena bombast are always at odds with his sugar frosted singer/songwriter side. Within this balladeering, emotive Mellencamp in waiting, there lurks a dark, dirty secret destined to make good on the promise made by AEROSMITH’S fantastic PUMP album. Before these giants succumbed to the wishy-washy symphony driven “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”. A song written by Diane Warren. Whom Aaron also admires as a songwriter, see the dichotomy? It is this conflict within Aaron that both defines him and defies him to dig deeper with every song he writes, every chord he plays, every note he sings. This is Aaron Peters. Ojibway.
