another fine mess (captain's in the kitchen) (Experimental)
Track Comments Recorded this years and years ago on an old Fostex 4 track to celebrate a manic time I was having every weekend (and most week nights) at the kingston mill. It goes on a bit, and I can't believe my voice was ever that high and wussy sounding, but there you go... Production's not tooooooo bad if you consider that...oh ok, it's dreadful, but it's the best I could manage at the time. I was probably very very drunk. Popped in the old place a few months ago; not the same any more. Well, it is sort of the same, but with different people who are all too young. I mean, I was never that young when I was that age. I was too drunk to be that young. Some of them even looked sensible. I used to shout myself voiceless in that place and leave covered in beer, spit, vomit, crisps, beer... erm....beer. I used to pop into the offie to pick up some cans to get drunk on my way there just so I was drunk enough to start drinking when I arrived. No nation other than Britain has that proud tradition, as far as I know. I dropped in on a friday night last November and people were drinking coffee and ...well..isn't drinking coffee bad enough!!!!!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves. Wait, no - they should be too drunk to be ashamed of themselves. Or they should at least be drunk enough to be doing something worth being too drunk to be ashamed of themselves for...grumble chunter moan whinge...
Spent years mastering bad guitar playing in my bedroom and was unkind enough to record the results. A decade later it's possible for me to share the pain with a wider audience - that's you - so enjoy!
My trusty old Fostex 4 track some abuse over the years, but I learned a lot from bouncing my guitar tracks all over it. Then i went and bought a Yamaha RM1X groovebox and an Akai digital studio and instantly forgot most of the useful stuff - can barely play guitar at all now, too used to step sequencing (so, on balance, probably good news for people who like guitar music).
If anyone fancies remixing anything here then feel free. Anything's got to be an improvement.
