Black Box Found is the headline to a loss of innocence, thus giving birth to mystery. BBF challenges the audience to go further then ever before, by all means necessary.
BBF was born on the solo work of Kurt Vatland who left Velveteen to pursue a more aggressive & indie sounding musical direction. After teaming up with John Laberda on bass they added John Hicks as a drummer and another guitarist for short time, but eventually pressed on as a 3 piece. Now disbanded, as Kurt pursue's a serious solo aritst career, the band still has a following shown with by consistantly appearing on the charts of mnlocalmusic.com leaving fans to wonder: "Is Black Box really over or will Kurt start it up again?"
In the short time this side project was together they turned some heads and were rising up to a really respectable level within the Minnesota scene. Best described as an "upbeat indie-root rock band with a groove element installed"- BBF is a fast paced, yet a soulful rock that you can dance too. Industry insiders such as Jerry Hubbard (Prince/IPR) said: "There is no reason they [BBF] shouldn't have a record deal right now."
