Paraguay Mckenzie (Gareth Hughes and Simon Mitchell) formed in 2002 as an electronic instrumental duo. After a series of successful gigs in Manchester, Sheffield and London, they began leaning towards a more song-oriented sound, demonstrated by the track on offer here, blending strong vocals with a series of massively diverse musical settings and styles.
This diversity is amply represented by the constantly shifting dynamics of 'short shrift'; the seven-part song-suite they're currently working on.
Gareth Hughes: vocals, programming, harmonica
Simon Mitchell: guitar, bass, keyboards, mandolin,
programming, backing vocals
