He won an "Honorable Mention" in the 2005 NSAI/CMT song contest with "The 12th Rose". "Harbour of your Heart" won 1st place in the 2004 Song of the year contest (September Country category). To date, he has recieved 5 professional songwriting grants through FACTOR (www.factor.ca).
