“HIDING PLACE” are a five piece that hail from Glasgow in Scotland. Seasoned professionals to the nth degree and with a serious eight year history establishing themselves as a hard rockin horse to be reckoned with….and then some. They may have bagged their slot on the Barfly Stage but this is a sound built for stadiums. Front-man Paul McCallion has perfected a Liam Gallagher-sans-attitude swagger and this band are ready to bring their thundering, post-Sound-garden spaced rock of, the masses! 'It takes a great deal of bottle to invoke the spirit of Hunter S. Thompson, the scourge of all wannabe gonzo hacks everywhere. So Hiding Place must have a good stash waiting to be collected from the off-licence.'East Kilbride was previously known as the home of Aztec Camera and The Jesus and Mary Chain, now “HIDING PLACE” is hoping to add their names to this short list of (in) famous sons on the nowhere hall of fame. Taking their lead from the greats of British Rock - Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple have been mentioned as influences “HIDING PLACE” is however neither poppy charters nor darkly introvert shoe-gazers their self-titled 4-track EP, with the tracks No Cure, Slave Trade, Fear and Loathing and At One Time or Another has had good reviews - and having recently supported Soil, Stone Sour, This Girl, In Me, Amplifier and Breed77. And in-case you haven’t noticed Del and Jay Jay are twins and Jason used to play for Pitchshifter. Having recently signed with Sony/BMG in the UK and having their album produced by Alan Clay who’s notable credits include Stereophonics, Feeder, Pixies, Reef, and “A”, and who has also produced and scored the soundtracks for the following motion pictures, Madagascar, Black Hawk Down, Shark Tale just to name a few. Unfortunately due to budget constraints and a shift in the personnel department within the label and its hierarchy the album was shelved and the boys have just won back their master recordings to pursue other offers for release in the international market place.
Recently signed to Michael A Puskas CEO of Astral Records & Music and DEAD Famous Artist Management in Australia they are set to once again harness the power that is this eclectic British five piece and once again unleash their new material on an unsuspecting audience across the world. Their highly touted UK single, “Cruel Kindness” is set to be released along with (12) other cutting edge tracks on the second DEAD Famous Artist compilation, “Alive & Dangerous” through the new Burnlounge online platform and can be checked out at: http://www.burnlounge.com/deadfamous “HIDING PLACE” are David Somerville (Vocals/Guitar), Derek Somerville (Guitars/Vocals), Gordon Campbell (Guitar/Vocals), Douglas Smith (Drums) and Paul McCallion (Bass/Vocals)
