Take the A Train (Jazz)

Artist Comments
It was either this or Comin' Home Baby, as I feel that my playing on Stormy Monday was wretched. I'm still not sure whether I made the right choice (my solo on Comin' Home is likely better) but I like this tune more, so... Assume that any poor articulation is actually your computer. Consider getting it checked.

I'm a student at Utah State University, and will be (provided nothing goes wrong) embarking to Alaska in May for a gig at a resort there for the summer, maybe the rest of the year. With me are three other great musicians: Bill Hepworth on bass, and co-leaders James Mauritsen on guitar and Scott Bird on drums. I'm gratified, surprised, and extremely excited that they asked me to play with them.
Normally I put up more avant-garde stuff here, that being my musical preference, but this Alaska gig has forced me to play more straight-ahead than I ever have before (surely a good thing.) So for now, a few songs from our demo we made, and maybe some others we record later on. I hope you enjoy, and I welcome all comments, good and bad, compliments and criticisms.
