Forging their own heavy, driving rock/metal sound, A Simple Complex would fit best on a music mix with Sevendust, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, Deftones, A Perfect Circle, Godsmack, Soil, Korn, Earshot, Prong, Union Underground. 4 song demo available! email [email protected] to get a free CD.
There’s more to this band than a clever play on words. A Simple Complex has quickly begun making waves on the music scene, forging their own distinct heavy sound that makes them an ideal rock band for the new century; “Heavy enough for the mosh pit, Rock enough for the radio.” A Simple Complex formed in late 2002, and by the summer of 2003, the band had completed their 4-piece lineup. With a slew of unique but contemporary hard rock originals, they have gained a reputation throughout New England for rocking the local clubs and creating an positive, energetic atmosphere with their growing fan base. A Simple Complex has played with other such local greats as Hostile Witness, Disorder by Design, and Thyk. As well as not-so local bands such as Hypersolid, Forfeit (Wilmington, Delaware). A Simple Complex is generating interest with record labels, magazines, clubs, colleges and the news media across the country. Statue Records and A Simple Complex are in talks regarding distribution of their CD. Decoy Music Magazine has contacted A Simple Complex for an interview and album review in their publication, stating that their writers ‘worship’ the band. Also, the band has accepted Psound Radio’s request to play A Simple Complex’s music at the launch of their new station. As the offers continue to pour in, the band is ready to take it to the next level and join the ranks of other heavy hitters, such as Godsmack, Sevendust, Disturbed, Deftones, Union Underground, Earshot, et al. The band was founded by Mark Ingoldsby (1 ½ Down, Sad Child, Hostile Witness). More than just the band’s drummer, his diverse musical tastes, ranging from “new age ambient” to “death metal,” give the band a unique flavor that sets them apart from the stereotypical “4/4 hard rock band with vapid lyrics and predictable 3-chord melodies”. Instead, A Simple Complex offers heavy rock songs with depth and meaning in the lyrics, and interesting sounds and signatures that challenge the listener on every level. Rich Ryden (The Point) and Harry Davis (Dirty Trix) add their distinct playing styles on bass and lead guitars respectively. Each have a history of performing solidly on stage and creating a high-energy rock atmosphere in any situation, from small intimate performances to full-blast large events. “Metal Mike” Brown completes the band’s lineup. His vocal style gives the band the strong front man the music requires. With his several octave vocal range and a stage presence that draws the crowd in and gets them moving, Mike delivers powerful vocals with intensity, sincerity and a performance that keeps the crowd thoroughly engaged as A Simple Complex continues to amass a following of rock fans around the globe.
