Estes Park-based A Plea for a Prayer has been together since November of 2003. Their sound is composed of fast, edgy guitars and solid percussion and topped off with face-melting scream/ sing dual vocals. PFAP's original, verbose lyrics and live performances have won them hometown acclaim, and they've recently recorded their first three-song E.P. at The Blasting Room.
A Plea for a Prayer started when Toby Hall (guitar/vocals), Sean Jurgens (guitar/vocals), and Forrest Johnson (bass/vocals) joined with drummer Tobey Mahon in November 03. All the members had been in previous bands, but none had seemed to go anywhere musically until now. They immediately hit it off, writing (and rewriting) lyrics and music the was much more mature than any other work any of them had done prior to PFAP. They played live shows in between writing their new material, and recently recorded a professional demo. Their sound, previously light-hearted, evolved into a darker, more serious sound influenced by such diverse music as Cursive, Squad Five-O, A.F.I., Letterkills, and Thrice.
