Hello all. I have been away from the boards for a number of weeks as my father took ill health and was admitted to hospital for emergency life saving surgery.
Unfortunately, after a battle of 8 weeks, he did not pull through and passed away on 28/08/07.
He really put up a valient struggle, but the extent of the operation put to much trauma on his body and could not win.
A cocktail of drugs over many many years for his Artheritis had weakened his immune system and thinned his blood to an extent that did not allow his body to take the operation.
He was a lovely man who took his health blows on the chin and got on with things as best he could, and doted on my mum to give her a lovely life.
He will be deeply missed, but we have had a lovely time digging out old photos and Cine and VHS film footage.

Very sorry for your loss. I do admire the postive way in which you posted though....keeping those happy memories alive. Good for you - I hope you can pull through this sad time with continued postiveness.

Thank you all for your thoughts and words. The few days since i posted here have been A mixed bag really. some tears and some laughing.
The funeral is on tuesday and i suppose that will put finallity to it, In this realm!. The weeks leading to his passing
were spent mostly at hospital, so my Ma is sort of used to waking in a quite house, but of course although the house was quiet there was always hope that he would come home. so with the funeral i think that will kick in that he not be coming home anymore. Though i am sure he will float down through the ethereal a lot.
Thanks agian for your kind and sincere words. they do give me comfort, and i will let my Ma know that you pass on your condolences.

These times are never easy. I know how you feel. No matter how someone dies, suddenly or over a long period of time, it always hurts. I'm sorry for you.
