1)A garage sale, we all have stuff we don't really need. 

2)The always immoral fake charitable event, though, I would definately recommend against this one, highly against it, lol.

3)Make copies of your CD, sell them for a One or Two Pound profit.  Go to music stores and let them hear it on a portable first.  Explain you need  the cash, etc.., famous someday, etc...Good folks will help out knowing a good Cd is coming in their hands.

4)Go to bars.  Let everyone get good and loaded, and follow the steps in number 3.  You could even up the price, and tell them they receive a free drink with every CD (of course the price would then reflect the additional drink price)

5)Paint abstract looking pieces and sell them on a corner.  Use the cheapest materials possible, boxes, old useless papers.  If you are artistically inclined, scratch the abstract thought, and whip some pics up real quick. 

6)Make yourself presentable (in my case, it's very necessary)  Knock on neighbors doors in the neighborhood.  Offer to clean up yards, mulch gardens, etc....

7)There are weirdos on ebay who will buy your used undergarments, dirty socks, etc...This one is way too creepy for me though, yuck.

Well, thought I'd throw some ideas out there to get the ball rolling.  If, as Mr Bo suggested, you could sell yourself, I'd go ahead with it.  Personally, since around 22, almost 14 years ago, I haven't hardly been able to give myself away for free, or I would have tried it already  (sad but true)

We dont really have a culture of garage sales in UK Steve, and when they do its usually the street pervert trying to lure women into his house!

Taxc, have a car boot sale son, your house is full of junk. You used to be able to score £15 from the pigs by putting yourself in a police line up - always risky in my case! You can sell your man seed to the local hospital, can't remember how much per 'session' but I dont think the nurse is allowed to stimulate your prostate at the same time anymore. Probably why they stopped me going.

You can always beg. Waterloo station in the rush hour is a good bet. Sorry thats demeaning (but can be a great earner if you have a dog on a piece of string).
