I woke up this morning about 11:30, and decided to lie in bed for another half hour. So I lay on my back dozing, then realised I needed to get up afterall and didn't wanna fritter the day away in bed. I tried to sit up, but couldn't.
I felt as if someone was pushing me down on my chest and pysically restraining me. I could feel some kind of weight/pressure and no matter how much I tried could not move. This scared the sh*t out of me and I suddenly had a fealing of fear and desperation wash over me, and I also felt very cold.
This lasted about 30 seconds at the most. I've seriously never felt such dread and I don't know why.
Now I've read reports of this before, where people cannot move or feel paralysed, and it's due to an involuntary muscle spasm. It's often mistaken for paranormal phenomenon.
However, weird things have actually been happening recently. The other day I thought I saw something in my room move by itself, but this afterall was New Years Day, after a hard nights drinking and not much sleep!
Also my dad has been doing some work in the attic for the last 2-3 days, and a lot of hammering is going on up there.. is it possible that loud noises can induce paranormal phenomenon.
I dunno if it's just my mind playing tricks on me, but I've always been pretty level headed about this sort of thing, sometimes even sceptical.
Strangley though, when I initially woke up this morning I thought soemone was in my room. You know how you can just sense that someone's there?
The whole thing sounds like the kind of story little kids tell each other when they go camping! It might sound daft to you and you'll say I was just dreaming, but I was most DEFINATELY awake and was very real. In one way I don't really want to sleep in my bed or in this room anymore...
What do you make of this?

Spooky, I was about to say, are you sure you was awake at the time? I've had dreams so vivid, I thought they we're real at the time. There is a thing called micro-sleep, where you fall asleep for a few brief seconds, and I think you can dream within that short time and not even realise it.
Do you know the history of the house?

I don't know what it is, but if it helps you any, I have had a similar experience.
As best I can tell, there has been no long-term damage. Takes a while to shake it off, though.

u can only dream during REM(rapid eye movement) sleep which is a phase of sleep that is pretty deep...so itis unlikely u dreamed within seconds of sleeping. i dont have an explanation for what happened but i do reccomend you visit your doctor/gp and explain what happened to you. it sounds pretty serious and you dont want to wait too long incase anything develops

Rethinking... do you have any problems with your neck? Sore, stiff, whatever? I do, and I think for me it had something to do with the way I was lying restricting the blood flow to my (minimalistic) brain. As soon as I managed to turn just a bit, things rapidly improved.
It's natural to feel panic, but I wouldn't worry about the paranormal unless I was hearing voices. Let me know if that ever happens -- then we'll have a real good chat .

If you think thats sppooky read this:-
About 12 years ago I was staying at a friends house and decided to go to bed. (The bed is right opposite the door with head of the bed looking out down the hallway) I decided to get into bed without closing the bedroom door; which is odd for me as I never leave the bedroom door open. Anyway as I lay in bed my eyes were focused down the hallway and I was fixated on a particular spot under the window. I didn't feel scared just curious, then about 5 mins later I heard footsteps going down the stairs. I went to bed shortly after.
The next morning I asked my friend did you go down stairs last night and he "No!" which was true as I would have seen him; but you have to ask.
So a week past and I went to visit my friend again for him to tell me that night I heard those footsteps his LandLord had died that night.....
I will leave you to decided.

This actually has a name in Japan - Kanashibari. First time I experienced it was in Japan and it scared the S**T out of me. It has happened to me a few times and the dread and terror is still chilling. I have found a cure though - never sleep flat on your back with your legs out straight. Just putting more weight on one butt cheek than the other and turning slightly to one side will immunise you from ever experiencing it again.
Japanese people say it's evil spirits and wotnot, but I think it's physiological, so don't sweat the bogiemen.
Good luck.

No I don't know the history of the house, but stuff like this has happened in the past, I'll tell you an example of something that happened about 10 years ago, when we first moved into this house.
My young cousin was about 3, and was talking and crawling (I think).
Anyway, my Auntie, Uncle, Grandma and Grandpa were round one afternoon, and we were all in the kitchen. They were sitting in their eating or whatever, and they could hear my cousin, Tom, talking to someone in the hallway.
They went out to the hallway in curiosity to see what he was doing, because I suppose a little kid talking to himself was quite funny, and they asked him who he was talking to.
He said he was talking to "the man" and pointed atthe front door. "What man?" they asked.
Bear in mind this kid is only 3, and he insists there was man standing in our house. That was kinda spooky.

Well it's weird but it sounded as if I could hear kids voice in my left ear, like f**ked up ramblings and reversed speech, but I thought that might have been kids playing outside on the street.
In my right ear there was a distinct ringing, the kind of noise you hear when someone punches you.

In elizebethan times, the used to say that if you lay flat on a bed that your soul would escape your body, so if you go to like "Chatsworth Hall" and things like that, you will notice the beds are just about half a bed size in length, they used to sit upright, so their soul wouldnt fall out. This has progressed, with studies, and scientists found that sililar things to what happened to you Paradox, were a regular occurance. And looked back at deaths/births/ in a single bed, and they said its mjore likely to happed if people have been born in your bed or died in it,
did your soul escape you?
