i was wondering u know if u burn music tracks and FINALIZE it on a CD-RW.... is it still rewritable after u finalize it?
reason being i wanna put some tracks and play them on a stereo system that only plays CD's but i don't wanna waste CD's or do i have too. |

why you need to put it on cd-rw first? why not go straight on to cdr?

i just wanna test a track out on a stereo system, and then u know test again... edit and again... and i don't wanna waste a CD for ever time i check...
so if you can burn music on a CD-RW and then reburn again and again i wouldn't have to waste a CD... but thats the thing... can u do multiple burns on a CD-RW and play it on a stereo system Edited by DJ MixWix - 14 December 2007 at 5:48pm |

most cd-rw have a limit to how many times you can burn to them...they lower in standard after a certain amount of times.... still don't really understand what you mean...are you talking about one of your own tracks? and trying to see how they sound....if they don't sound that good re master them and try again? is that what you are doing?

cd-rw don't normally work on stereo's dude... some do but not many... same goes with cd-rs but you have a better chance of a cd-r working on a stereo than a cd-rw

yeah i went through loads when i was doing the stella album..they cheap as chips tho fella...its probably the best way to test your own mixes in my opinion... you may get lucky with the cd-rw but i cant recall many working on my stereo

Incompatibility has dropped enormously in stereo systems playing cdrws in last few years so unless your system is like more than 3 years old it might have issues but try it and see. You can finalise a cdrw to make it more readable with stereos and the limitation of burns is something like 100,000!! lol So i dont think theres any harm in write/erasing/writing etc etc... I do it all the time and my cdrw (Memorex) on 3 different systems and they play without a problem at all.

It might be just that a certain brand wont work with your System Ricky, if you have a few different brand CD-RWs it would be worth trying them out to see if any work. Thats what most CD/DVD drives firmware updates are for, to keep adding compatibility for new CD/DVDs. Most of those p!shy cheap CDs and DVDs are barely writable nevermind readable and thats why its best to stay away from them, imho the best brands to go for are Verbatim or Sony, ive never had any problems with those two.
