Over here in america, Hilary Clinton is quickly becoming the obvious democratic challenger to the republicans for the following years elections.  After years and years of shiiiity rule by the republicans it seems certain that the democrats would get a shot this next year for presidency.

However the republicans are foaming at the mouth at the prospect of hillary getting the democratic ticket.  It's the only person they could beat in the following elections.  I am so p*ssed that the democrats are blowing this oppurtunity, and mad that hillary isn't smart enough to see that she is the only person who could lose.

what are other peoples thoughts?  I am really sick of republicans, so i would vote for hillary, but i am afraid she is too polarizing.  Plus the idea of VP Bush, VP Bush, Prez Bush, prez Clinton, prez clinton, prez Bush, prez bush, prez Clinton looks a little rediculous.  2 families running the country for over 25 years.

welcome to the new world order, Red....unless there's a dark horse candidate with many many millions of dollars to invest  that hasn't surfaced yet, I think Hillary will get the nomination and I think she will "win" the...ermmm...... "election"....she was the special guest at the last meeting of the Bildergerg group as were the last four presidents prior to their "election"....of course that could just be sheer coinkidink...far be it from me to suggest any impropriety among our captains of industry and various leaders of the "free" world...

edit: and I guarantee that even if she or another democrat is elected - not one word of the patriot act will change, habeus corpus will not be reinstated, and the erosion of our constituional rights will continue unabated until the american people are finally willing to fight back in some meaningful way...

i hear ya there mel.  But let me ask you, if it came down to her and Rudy Giulliani (Dr. 9-11) who would you vote for?

I mean giullani has similar views as me, but my gosh, i am so sick of him bringing everything back to 9-11.  You can ask him his favorite color and his answer would be "My favorite color is beige, like the color of the firefighters jackets on september the 11th when we were attacked by terrorists."

I'm not as confident as you that she will win.  I already see fox news running half hour long "new segments" of "is hillary's laugh distracting her campaign?".

Faux news is powerful. and people will agree with anything.  and the one liberal voice they have on there "colmes" is weak.  He stubles over everything he says, and ends up agreeing with hannity.

I hear ya Red....Juliani is the last person in the world I would vote for....9/11 is the chant of warmongers and predators looking for an excuse to murder more folks on foreign soil in order to maintain our incredibly wasteful lifestyle here in the west ....and if I thought it was going to be a fair fight I might vote for Hillary or whoever  if he/she offered something fundamentally different from her opponent -

what she will offer will look good on paper at least, to a country that is systematically being choked into giving up soveriegnty and bled dry by monolithic corporations...but it won't be anything but a temporary bandaid to keep the "peasants" in their place - maybe it would be worth it to have that bandaid for a little while -I dunno -

that always seems to be what it comes down to - who will give us a little relief rather than fighting to put someone in office that can really lead a sea change...

but having lived through 7 president's terms of office I can tell you with absolute certainty that nothing has changed except that the lies they tell us just keep getting bigger and more blatant....the rich get richer and the poor poorer and there is no balance, and no redress...

I'm prolly the wrong person to debate this if I'm honest, because I think a sea change will come eventually but it won't come from the white house...
I hope I'm wrong, Red - I truely do...

yeah thats got to tell you something about how the process of choosing our leaders has been undermined and corrupted ....

I just keeping asking questions(for the last forty years) that never get answered - like why are no other candidates ever allowed to debate on national TV except for dems and republicans and the occassional eccentric billionaire (remember Ross Perot?)?
why are mainstream networks not required by law to give free air time to all candidates so people can make more informed choices about the future of their country ffs...

when was the last time we had a president who wasn't among the wealthy elite? Lincoln...

Democracy??? coporate oligarchy is more like it....

I really hope Barack Obama wins, that would be great ! But most likey Hilary Clinton will win, which would suck, but would be better than repulicans running things ! Its like Barack says, anyone who had a hand at the old gov and the decisions to go to war souldnt be involved with the new one because it would just be more of the same stuff.

yeah Nader's pretty cool...I wasn't mad at him though...even tho it opened the door to Bush's ascendency...I wasn't mad because he was trying to open the publics mind to the issues that never get addressed in a meaningful way...there is no better public forum than the election of a president here...but unfortunately the public did not take his words to heart and establish a solid third party - we desperately need a viable third party but people have to fight for it and fight hard but americans don't seem to have the heart for the battle...

im with you blunt....im basically voting "not republican" this time.  my point is, i think hillary is the only democrat who can lose next year.  Barrack could prob pull it out if he got the nomination, but hes too far behind now.

If the democrats united behind someone, (sadly probably would be best to be a white male from the south) then they could beat these republican monsters
