Hi, all,

I just joined this site recently, but it's already my favourite place in the world mainly because of all the great people here!

I'm 47, a confirmed bachelor, live with my 3 dogs in Malaysia near the island of Penang. Work long hours to support my need to make music. Hope to come out with an album soon.

I like anything music, and am always willing to give something new a listen. My playing depends on my mood, and mostly I dislike what I can play and love what I cannot so I dabble in this and that.

I was a bassist in a 3-piece Blues and Rock band in my late teens, took up the lead guitar later, played in a band doing covers for some years, then decided to quit the stupid HotelCal scene, joined a bunch of old guys in a Dance band, had to learn to play Country, ChaCha, Waltzes and sing in harmony...that lasted about 10 years, then just felt tired musically, decided I wasn't going anywhere so quit playing for 2 years , then was persuaded to join a band using sequencers and playing top100 chart songs, complete with 2 girls dressed in almost nothing......we also played Chinese, malay, Indian, Thai songs, anything to keep them buying more drinks at the bar. I'd play the congas, timbales too, cos we had 2 guitarists. Somehow I still managed to sneak in some Rock, Blues, DireStraits, James Brown, Doors, Bad Company stuff into each set, which made our shows totally mind-bending, to say the least. 3 years of that,I had to quit to preserve my (in)sanity. Then spent a year with a "real" band practising for a local ElvisPresley impersonator, freaked me out having to learn all those ScottyMoore/James BUrton guitar licks and solos. The "Elvis" was a chinese guy, and didn't take too kindly to me calling him Elvis Pres Lee, then in the meantime the band got offers from local clubs and pubs, where we spent 2 years playing up to 4nights a week, different pub each night.....repertoire now included a whole ton of Elvis songs minus-EPLee, Beatles stuff, Ray Charles, you-name-it-we-did-it from the 70's and 80's. band did too well for its' own good, eventually split due to the usual reasons, about which time my buddy TommieD who's from Texas but lives in Asia now told me to get off my arse and write some original stuff so I decided to quit all performing in 2006 and try to do an album. That sort of summarizes the last 30 years for me.

*Phew* longest paragraph i ever wrote. hope you lasted thru some of it. I think i'll leave the childhood years and Indian music bit out for now.
