On my travels around the web last month I discovered a singer who was into DnB and didn't miss the opportunity to check her out, as DnB females are rare breed indeed.

Well, we got chatting, fired some ideas around and before you know it, I took my mic down to her lovely cottage by the sea and we recorded 3 tracks over a couple of nights.  She turned out to be a natural and all went smoothly.

So, I am pleased to introduce Essence and our first collaboration 'Green Bliss'  No guessing what common interest we shared apart from music then...

Oh, just some freebie VSTi..nothing special.

I use Synapse Hydra...I tell you, its taken me 2 years to work out how to use the thing, but finally I'm getting decent sounds.  Sound design is a whole new ball game that I've only really got into over the last 6-8 months.  Only thing I'm finding is that half of the really cool sounds I'm getting sound like Pendulum.  They've been there before and used most of the good ones.  I used to think it was a compliment to be compared to them, and now its starting to annoy me.

But, all said and done, its a great little synth, and a snap at US$60.  Its been my mainstay since Hydro in 2004 - that was my first track using it.

The free demo is full-functional, you just cant save any presets...there are ways round that with your DAW but it gets a bit tedious.  So, try it out.

If you have any collab ideas, let me know.  Did you did anything with the audo I sent you while back?

And someone else had comment on lack of warmth...mmm, I pushed the crisp-factor so maybe it did lose out in the 500-1000 band.  If it ever makes it onto a CD I'll have to remaster it anyway.  Cheers fella.  you have some of the pickiest ears I know.  Gold dust, you are mate.
