![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Black Wookie,
Unfortunately, there is very little we at mp3u can do to remove a Facebook page. As far as I know, FB pages can only be removed by the person(s) who set it up. Sometimes there are big FB and Internet campaigns to shut down FB pages of dubious nature or extremely bad taste, sometimes with 100s of petition signees, but Facebook never seem to do anything about it themselves - citing something vague about Freedom of Speech... Having said that, I couldn't find any FB page with the specific name 'Black Wookie Rampage'. There are two 'Black Wookie Studios' pages and a 'Black Wookie Recordings', which all appear interrelated, a 'Black Wookie' which seems to be blank, a couple of 'Wookie Black's and a musician called 'Black Wookie Jirafita' (your guess is as good as mine!). Did you see the 'Black Wookie Rampage' page yourself, or can you still view it? Darth ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() As I stated I was only told it was there but I do not go on fb myself. How does the fb like function work with MP3U? Does it create a page or does it just appear on the likers page?

![]() ![]() ![]() OK, I understand the thread title now - No, there is no automatic creation of facebook pages when someone likes a song. If someone is listening to one of your songs, for example, and clicks the like button (provided they are logged into FB), all that happens is that that person's FB friends see a notification "Mr X likes 'Track title' by Black Wookie Rampage on mp3unsigned.com" with a link to the track on your mp3u artist page.
If any of those friends follow the link and similarly click on the like button, it will nofity all of their friends in return, and this way a track's popularity can grow exponentially through facebook. But no, there isn't and never has been any automatic page creation. Cheers, Darth. ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() You're very welcome.
![]() Seeing as there is no specific "Black Wookie Rampage" page on facebook up to the time of this writing, I suggest it might be pertinent to grab it yourself while you still can (if you have any interest in having a facebook page). Since this would be a page in your artist name, you don't need to worry about being stalked or getting friend requests from creepy long-forgotten high school friends/enemies. On the other hand, there is cybersquatting, where people think of a good website name for any business or enterprise they can think of, and buy the domain, with the only intention of selling it to someone who may really want it in the future, or have registered the name as an official company but don't have a website. I've never heard of anyone cybersquatting a facebook page before, but this thread seems to have had a lot of views (by persons unknown) so far... Just saying... ![]() Taking the FB plunge, however you mightn't want to, is probably better than being impersonated by someone with ill intentions (seeing how difficult it is to get any FB page deleted - see the recent sick Morgan Freeman "joke" as a prime example). Yours, Darth. ![]() ![]() |
