POETREE Resurrects Hip Hop (Monday, January 24, 2005)
GOAL - Poetree is an acronym meaning the Peoples Organized Entertainment Teaching Righteous Education Everywhere and they are all natives of Chicago, Illinois. Their goal is to Teach, Reign, Entertain, and Elevate, in all industries of artistic expression. Poetree Chicago plans to serve as a catalyst for up and coming artists to establish themselves as prominent poets, rhymers, dancers, actors, artists, musicians, vocalists, and entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry.
MISSION - Their mission is to inspire youth and adults to partake in a cultural renaissance that will foster the importance of self-respect and knowledge of self, as well as cultural and international unity through poetry and music.
DEFINTITION - Poetry is rhythm. Rhythm is the beating motion of the heart, which transports life throughout the body. Singing is poetry slowed down. Art is poetry visualized. Theater is poetry acted out. Dancing is poetry in motion. Poetry is the end product of all of these artistic expressions. Therefore, all forms of entertainment and performances stem from poetry, making poetry the tree of life. Hence, the "Poetree..."
