AUGUST 2010 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SIXSTEP is proud to announce the release of their new CD, “A Dangerous World”, and the lead single, “Middle Ground”. The lyrics reflect on a turbulent affair between vocalist Al Rahn, his girlfriend, and his best friend around the time he joined SIXSTEP. To amplify the themes of uncertainty, longing and confusion, “Middle Ground” was recorded unplugged for the new CD. The full band version (arranged by bassist Jason Glen Peed) was recorded as a single and is available online and soon on CD.The melding of the jazz guitar chord progression and the standard blues form builds to a ferocious, hard-kicking bridge, followed by a guitar solo from Elliot Koenig. Al's vocals have strong emotion and dynamics like a hard rock Billie Holiday. Add on the signature saxophone sound from Ricky Hopkins and you have an extraordinary song that sends chills down your spine.
