A Florida native, born into a movie business atmosphere; Sebastien Remi Perez was exposed at a very early age to the entertainment industry (due to his mother's career in the movie business), this eventually led him to a long sought out dream. Starting at the early age of 14, Remi Dymez [which he later changed to Dhymz] interned at Clifton "Specialist" Dillon's record label Shang Records (home of Kymani Marley, Mad Cobra, Shabba Ranks) where he got his first taste of the music industry. At the age of 15 Dhymz was mentored by producer Damon "Dice" Hunt (credits include Kid Rock, LL Cool J..) which is where he first began recording. There he started to learn the ropes of the entertainment business, while deriving his style from an old school hip-hop influence. Dhymz had used the fundamentals of hip-hop to create his own style while battling his way up among other inspiring rappers. His musical influences range from Pink Floyd, Big Pun, Reflection Eternal, Dead Prez, Jimmy Hendrix, Outkast, Big L, Wu-Tang Clan, Prince to The Beatles which consequently led him to an appreciation for music. In essence, this wide variety of influences had caused him to be open to trying any type of music style. Promptly, he began perfecting his skill and lyrical content, with goals to cross cultural lines with his musical talent. Dhymz has received various accolades from the likes of Multi-Platinum producer Frank Nitti (Destiny’s Child), West Coast legend Warren G, Manager of The D.O.C. John Huffman, Frank Lee White (Scott Storch’s newest artist), East Coast legend MC Serch, & Southern artist Rich Boy to name a few. He has also received credited play at radio shows such as KLLO-Radio.co.uk, TreazyRadioShow.com, and LION Radio 90.7 FM. Dhymz has been consistent in building a steady fan-base over the Internet; receiving over 25,000 plays worldwide. Now residing in Miami, which is more and more becoming the center of digital music production; Dhymz is currently attending the highly accredited S.A.E. Institute of Miami (School of Audio Engineering) where he looks to remain in a studio environment learning both center stage and behind the scenes experience. Such experience, has lead him to travels in prime music locations such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, and the Birthplace of Hip Hop, New York City. “On the contrary to what most people normally assume Dhymz means, to me it signifies “Headed For Top Ten”. When I say that, I mean everybody's top ten list. No matter what type of music you listen to, I want to make something for you. I feel that as an artist, you can't be close-minded to a different type of sound. Different concepts help paint different pictures for your listeners. I'm open to doing any type of music, just as Samuel Jackson is open to different types of roles. I'm in the Business of Entertainment.”
