Review: MD1 Project: Ricky Mancini Process of Accountability.
I've been watching Ricky the last few months. He really is such a bonus on here on mp3unsigned.
Ricky is oozing talent and seems to have an endless supply of musical ideas.
This track is an excellent piece of work. Structurally I can’t fault it. Ricky is an awesome producer.
I love the fat bass sounds & the frantic drum sound, it all gels together to give a frenetic urgency to the track. I love the dirty distorted sounds as well.
MD1 Project is developing many fans on this site and the high chart positions reflect this. Hence I feel the high commercial appeal.
There is no melody as such but to compensate there is tremendous drum sounds. And the Bass and synths have good hooks to keep the listener tuned in all the way through.
The quality is only excellent as is the performance/presentation.
The one area you may not agree with me about this track is in the "vocal" "lyric" or "speech sample".
I am treating this as a lyric coz I believe it is carrying a message.
It gives the listener a sense of some deep political message. But I'm afraid I just don’t get it.
The vocal sample would work, I feel, if it was more in the background, as it is, it is easy to identify what is been said and therefore needs to be explored more:
The first part is:
Address to the Nation
by
Chief Executive
Islamic Republic of Pakistan
General Pervez Musharraf
http://www.pakistani.org/pakistan/constitution/post_12oct99/musharraf_address_17oct1999.html
Lack of accountability has resulted in corruption of horrendous proportion, threatening the very basis of our society. The term `Ehtesab' has been abused to an extent that it has lost its meaning. There is thus a need to re-establish faith in the process of accountability.
The process of accountability is being directed especially towards those guilty of plundering and looting the national wealth and tax evaders. It is also directed towards loan defaulters and those who have had their loans re-scheduled or condoned.
The Second part:
From the movie The Bridge On The River Kwai (1957):
Do not speak to me of rules. This is war. This is not a game of cricket.
I don’t get it. Sorry.
Having said that, the track works on every other level and deserves high praise. Hence the High score.
