Us big city folk over at Soundclick think we have it good, don't we?  Here we are on a site that is BURSTING at the seams with truly incredible talent, and we are part of that.  Well, guess what?  Soundclick is but a bigger 'burb is all; there are loads of sites around where you can find talent equally as good, equally as inventive as anything you will find on Soundclick.  While it's true that many SC artists also hang out on several sites (MP3 Unsigned, Songplanet, indiehangout, funender etc) these sites also have artists who are NOT on Soundclick.  Wherever possible I will try and highlight those artists...

S'all fresh blood after all, innit?

The Foreboding is one of these multi-site artists (here on SC and MP3 Unsigned) who I have had the pleasure of listening to quite frequently and one I've grown to like a lot.  Anyone who cites as influences Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake AND Robert Graves is going to be a serious dude.  Funnily enough, although I recognise the musical antecedents, I've always found The Foreboding's material and performance to be livelier than you might at first imagine.  There's a lightness and openness in Forboding tracks that makes them very, very accessible.

I liked Counting The Beats and Come Rest Your Head immensely and Wasted Wings just confirms this artists enormous appeal for me.  Personally, judging by this track I'd add Tom Waits to those influences because I found both the flow of the music and the vocal delivery to be highly reminiscent of a Waits track.  The voice, of course, is of a different nature and there's never going to be a way that TF is going to escape those Cohen comparisons, both his delivery and tone are cut from the same cloth.  While you listen to this, do get a look at the lyrics which are an essential part of this artists charm, at least for this reviewer.

Very, very classy.
