Steve Wilson is one of the best artists by far on Mp3unsigned.com in my humble opinion. For many years now he has consistently brought fresh and some incredible tracks to the table.
Steve has one of those voices you can carry with you. You can feel the passion in his voice and his melodic tones just ripple softly over great beats and killer guitar riffs like strawberry sauce on ice cream, it all comes together effortlessly to the ear which takes real, raw talent, which is exactly what Steve Wilson has.
As a singer/songwriter I dream of the day I can aspire to some of Steve’s work. Having worked mostly for play and personal enjoyment for several years now I have heard a fair few artists and learnt a considerable amount myself. In personal taste a song has to have something really special for it to really stay with me for some time, which asks a lot of a song and the vocalist. In regards to Rock as a genre then naturally Bon Jovi, Guns & Roses, Aerosmith, Thunder and Journey come to mind to name but a few. Many of those artists have classic tracks that mean a lot to me. So it takes a cracking track and artists to tick my boxes to be honest and frank.
Which brings me to one of my all time favourite tracks that is right here on mp3unsigned.com.
Ask Me Too by Steve Wilson
Ever since I heard a rough listen of this track years ago I couldn’t wait to hear a more finished version. Although even then the song had amazing potential, with an awesome vocal and guitar piece that said a lot about the artist’s calibre and talent.
Having now heard a studio version of this track, I have been totally blown away! This song has climbed to a new dimension in my opinion. It still has all the qualities it had from the drawing board, keeping Steve’s vision and talent in mind I am so pleased he gave this track the time it rightly deserved.
The musical arrangement is perfect for the lyrics and vocal. Keeping it relatively simple with awesome drums, percussion and a killer guitar it keeps the raw quality that I loved way back when.
I can’t think of too many tracks where you can hear the passion in a singer’s voice more than this? The lyrics take you through a journey and poignant emotions from the singer which really works for me. I love hearing/putting heart and soul into a track and this is exactly what Steve Wilson has done here. This song may be about regret and imperfection but Steve has nothing to regret if this track is the only good thing that came out of that experience, then I am sure it was more than worth it. Musical chocolate to the ears and it leaves you just wanting to hear more and more.
I could put this track on repeat all day and never bore of it.
One of my favourite tracks from an awesome, talented artist who I really hope gets the recognition he rightly deserves. If pure talent was the only thing that mattered today in today’s musical world, Steve Wilson would already be a mega star.
I dare any genuine real music lover not to love Steve Wilson and in particular this track.
Well done Steve! You should be really proud and keep up the good work.
