Good review to start off, a track I have already listened to and enjoyed a great deal, from an artist with a ever growing collection of very solid, well crafted proper songs. First thing I checked out when reviewing the song were the lyrics, they are a really quite strong for a song of this type, which at it's heart, is a song about despair. Rather than wallow in the misery though, the song offers a ray of hope in the line 'I'll get over it' which is important, as without that line the song would offer little hope to it's listeners. I also enjoyed the variations in the later chorus, which subtly changed the lines around and kept the recording fresh.

Structurally the song has a fairly straightforward pop/rock format, the verse is strong, leading to a very tight chorus where the singing goes almost into falsetto at first. It's a trick used very successfully by many modern artist, Take That for example used this form of change on the chorus to great effect (and success) recently. This soaring chorus shouldn't be underestimated as it is the rock on which the song grabs you for further listens. A good hook (and this is a REALLY good hook) should never be underestimated. Musically the song is workmanlike, there isn't a great deal of variation in the instrumentation although the guitar is well balanced and played throughout the whole song, but really we can overlook this purely because the song is so strong. Top marks there.

Finally, I will offer a few suggestions for improving the song which are of course purely subjective :) Change the drums, they are a little weedy and one dimensional, obviously we are all limited in the equipment we have access to, but I've heard several of your other tracks with much better drum arrangements :) Secondly, change the synth instruments playing the harmony line in the second verse to either a organ patch or a more realistic string patch, the one you use is a bit casio for the song. Lastly rerecord the vocal on the first verse and chorus as you go a little sharp in a couple of places and the first part of the chorus. All the above are very minor nit picks and don't spoil the song at all and should be viewed as just suggestions :) Summing up, great track, strong vocal, great lyrics. Now the million dollar question, would I buy the track if I heard it on the radio ? Damn right I would :)
