So here i am on a sunday afternoon flicking through the site when up pops this on the forum.
Hailing from Pakistan this artists is bringing a little pearl jam like rock to Mp3unsigned.
My first impression of this track was the obvious influences of Moby.mk.ii.
This is a good thing and also a not so good thing, on one hand it shows alot of skill achieving that sounds and style and in that respect is quite impressive. On the other hand it demonstrates a need for some personl style to be developed through the music, though this may come with time. The potential is most certanly there.
'In Transit' took me back to my teenage years in the mid 90's when i was listening to alot of Alice in chains, soundgarden and pearl jam.
This track is instantly accessable and enjoyable, the riff is solid and pushes the track along well. The vocals where bang on the money, though i did feel that the track needed a good strong bass line to beef it up a little.
There is a bag load of potential here in this artists work and it will be interesting to see how it develops over time.
Moby.mk.ii needs only to find his own unique twist to this music, a lot of talent and skill here but the track smacks of pearl jam too much.
Thats not to say i dont like the track though cause its very good and i urge others to check it out and make up their own minds.
