For those of you who don’t know me I am the singer/song writer here at mp3unsigned.com. You find some of my tunes as half of the duet Serenity (www.mp3unsigned.com/serenity.asp) and as solo artist RainyD (www.mp3unsigned.com/rainyd.asp). Tim asked for this review when I offered some up recently. Now a tribute to a TV programme, now this is different for me! I have seen the show and some friends are really into it so I can see the fascination. “BreakBeat” is a new genre for me. Having being introduced by it by Contajen aka Jez/Virus. I’m interested in all new BreakBeat tunes and this is no exception. You will have to forgive me as I am not a producer so I can’t tell you if anything is out of time etc… But I can tell you as a listener I am impressed. I feel the track is an apt tribute indeed to an diverse, interesting programme which has been running for a bit now. I love the twists and turns in the structure of the track and the vocal samples work really well. The beat is wicked and brings a sharp, funky feel to the track. Overall the track is an enjoyable listen and the synth work works really, really well and brings an eerie/suspense feel to the track which is very reflective of the show. So coming from a 22 year old producer/DJ I have to say I am really impressed. I don’t mean to be condescending either, it’s very much a compliment. You have an ear for arrangement and I for one am looking forward to hearing more and more tunes from you and this is definitely the best tune I have heard come out of Warwickshire for time if ever! Excellent track and thanks for asking me to review it. In conclusion, funky BreakBeat and is definitely worth some attention. For those not heard it yet, you’re missing out.
