This is a cynical ode to middle age, not a particularly happy song. This was also my first collaboration, a friend wrote and performed the chorus. This was meant to sound rough, like a garage band. I should refine it a bit, there are certainly some rough edges. The usual "it's me singing" warning applies. If you can get past the singing, I'd be interested in what you think of the lyrics and the music. Oh, and the "guitar" solo at the end is me on a Wavestation synth. I'm a closet "Jan Hammer", lusting after a keytar I suppose.

Classical lessons, rock band at 16, jazz at Humber College at 18, on the road with a disco/funk showband at 20, got a real job after two years of that, stopped playing publicly for around 20 years, met Mary Gottschalk in a parking lot (long story), collaborated with her on a few songs, started playing in my local church, turned the offertories into jazz and blues songs, did a CD and played in a couple Worship teams with my son and daughter. I have now retired (again) from public playing, time to leave it to the kids. Check out my CD on iTunes or at CDBaby.I didn't want to pick a music genre because I like to be able to play all sorts of different styles of music. I prefer jazz, rock, R&B;/funk (Earth, Wind and Fire; Tower of Power; etc.), some classical and whatever else comes up. Salsa music is next on my list. I am interested in collaborating with other artists so if you need help with writing, arranging or orchestration, I hope you'll consider me.
