The Waterfall
wow you are a very versatile musician from progressive lyrics to new age acoustic .. love this track heaps heaps
The Piano Certainly gives a wter fall feeling...is an ideal track for being truthful with youself in processing a hard time...or that what it took me to...this kind of orchestration shows your great skill
Hi Andy, Sorry for being a latecomer on this but glad I did come along. This is the first version I have heard, lovely melody from the piano. Complimentary strings and arrangement is very good. I see I have some competition here. A masterful piece my friend. Really enjoyed it. Take Care Andy :)
Big thanks James for the positive words on my tune, Abuser. Really appreciate it. Wait for Stars
A nice change of pace, you have some great tones you're working with there on keyboards and strings. I like the percussion on the outro, but I applaud your decision to hold off on using it until then. Well done! Thumbs up....
Love that Melody Andy , Piano sounds better , not sure what you used , the voice sounds is that from Omnisphere . I I could imagine a bigger ending with a full orchestra. Ive Played this a few times now , i think i'll take a download ... Great Stuff Andy . How's your Knee ;) I voted already , i'll give it another push if it lets me.
Beautiful! Nothing more to say Andy mate.
A nicely conceived and performed piece of music that gives a real sense of place. I like the way the strings pick up towards the end with the percs. Very visual.
Shades of Owen MD at the start...to me anyway.Piano melody's nice, but personally think a ''real'' piano sound would suit better, cos this one sounds like an electric.Strings and things arranged nicely and apart from that deep mid/bass pad(which under me cans is a bit overpowering around 2.20) another class production.
Beautiful pîece of music, james. Very soothing. Really love how you toss me around with all these chords. Lots of feeling and expression too. Rated.
I am listening to this with my niece's 3 year old son laying next to me and it is the coolest video of reality to go along with this piece you did. His eyes want to close and he keeps snapping out of it. When it was over I asked if he likes the music and he opened his eyes shaking off the sleep. I am playing it again and he is drifting again! Very nice.
I love the melody Andy , the Piano seems a little heavy , maybe be a little softer .Just my thoughts mate , it a nice piece you have going .. Enjoyed it Gets a thumbz mate
Im trying to think of a way to mask it?.. I use(Set up) via the phones socket, direct to line in... but i guess it varies on different keys? Either way, its about the music and the sound quality at times is neither here or there. As a piece of music, it sounds really good, and i enjoyed it mate!.. All the best!
Dave, Rich... you are both correct in each spotting the failings of the piano sound i have. It's a bottom of the range yammy with the headphone socket providing the audio and it's neither crisp nor noiseless. Towards the end most of the sh1t is masked by the bigger arrangement but i do need a new piano!!!
Hello mate!!.. Via cans im getting a slight background hiss?.. could be here though? :-). The piano playing is good, solid structure and a good expansive range of chords ..The light string backing is decent, adds that extra depth.. Its a gentle piece, soothing, i like the melodies.. and enjoyed the music... All the best !
This is a very peaceful sound...I can see the meandering river water running splashing birds chirping...very relaxing!
Just a wonderful piece of music Andy. Gently played and the violinage is really well done also....
Andy, this is real nice and relaxing. I do have a little problem with the tone of the "piano". It has a muddy midrange on my monitors. Everything else sounds very good. Maybe it's just my ears. I'm very sensitive to mids.
Really nice!! Such a cool, calm vibe to this, which I really dig. Sounds great as usual. Nice job. Thumbs up. Wait for Stars
I agree with Eric, I picture the waterfall and it's wonderful,Great Piece....;)..Vin
This is a beautiful beautiful song. Very moving. The music is matched perfectly with the feeling of falling water and a place of peace. Very warm sounds. Again just beautiful! Big Thumb Eric
I began recording songs in January 2006. Genre is rock, pop and jazz with electronica dabbles on a few toons. It's a hobby for me. I record using cubase.
Home studio using a PC, yamaha keyboard, a couple of guitars and a Rode NT1A mic. I use cubase for recording/mixing and wavelab for mastering.
A strange fact - in 1976, the term "Mega" was 1st coined by me and came into general usage as meaning something great or awesome. I was an apprentice electrician at the time and "mega" was a technical prefix meaning "a million times". I remember that all my fellow students started using the term so maybe this was down to me. Nobody hardly says it anymore so i guess it's run it's course.
Another strange fact - i designed a telephone for use in a mortuary. Dead interesting lol!!!
Nice strong melody & energy to this track, would be great for the movies.
wow i felt like i was actually at a pink floyd concert excellent tune.
James Oakwood is a new name to me from MP3 Unsigned but hey, he is a man in love with his bed obviously so he's cool by me. He's also a rock artist which, as you well know, definitely fine by me. According to his webpage, he's only been writing and recording since 2006 and features a tasty pick of all his kit (is that a Dell?); the kind of stuff you need to make rock music. Even
Wooohooo!
A refreshing track about my fave place, I love it!
Keep em comming Mr Oakwood!!
