Crime Pays

I finally get it.  Law enforcement isn't designed and operated to protect and serve the people.  .  It must be that propaganda scribbled on every police car I've ever seen that had me brainwashed.  But no.  Law enforcement is designed and operated to protect and serve the interests of an ambiguous elite wealthy governing class, of which I am not a part.  Employees of business, government, education, medicine and religion, whose intentions start out honorable, retreat into an apathetic cesspool of indifference, praying to maintain a fragile standard of living and hoping the promises they've sold their souls to secure will be collectable.

 

Once I figured out the rules of the game I realized there was only one way to properly react to this situation.  The person or organization behind any internet scam is kind of like a commissioned sales person.  What do commissioned sales people hate more than anything else?  For people to waste their time.  Ah-ha!  I've wasted this much of someone's time so why not push the envelop a little further?  . 

 

As I was waiting to verify that indeed no one in law enforcement would get involved, I stalled the writer saying my receptionist put the check in someone elses box, I'd try to get it deposited the next day at lunch and if not, after work the next day.  I scolded the writer for accusing me of trying to steal the funds without performing my side of the bargain and unsuccessfully demanded an apology.  . Then when the writer thought I was totally on board, I said I changed my mind.  The next email I received apologized several times and gently prodded me forward.  Then I wrote this:

 

No Dave.  I've made up my mind.  I can shred the check or send it back.  If I were your sponsor, I would want the check back.  Like you say, there are too many untrustworthy people; people who prosper in the moment due to deception of those who are less than human.  These are people who feel entitled to prey upon the weak minded, trusting souls for selfish personal gain.  You know the sort. 

 

I'll tell you what.  So you don't feel taken advantage of in any way, I will not only return the check, but cover the cost of your shipping and something extra for your trouble.  To what address shall I send the funds?

 

I haven't heard back.     

Just thought I would add one more similar story that is currently in play. My sister had work done on her house, all turned out fine. Decided to get the guy back from some extra work. He said, it'll cost €2.5K for materials so being a little naive, she paid him up front... Buggar then bailed the country off to the US permanently. Anyway, she was very upset so I got on to a cop that I know who then found out where the guy lived, what his previous track record was etc etc. As he was just a regular cop there was only so much he could do. So my dad called on a friend of his who is a plain clothes detective (one of those guys with a machine gun and an unmarked car) and this guy said he would sort it out. So now there is a civil case and a criminal case being fast tracked here in Ireland and a summons will be sent to the US authorities. From what he says, the US authorities will deport this guy as soon as he uses his passport anywhere or tries to do anything official because of the exchange of iformation internationally re terorism etc.
