This is a FAQ section that will grow over the coming months. Thanks management3 for the excellent idea!
It is maintained by management and cannot be responded to, but when you have a question please check for an answer here first! Should your question not appear here then by all means proceed to ask the very helpful community here. If the question and answer are deemed to be of a frequent nature they will be added to this informational thread. The reason this has been made is to 1] save space from multiple postings, and 2] give a single place where people can check for answers to many standard questions. Some Frequently Asked Questions from members and bands at mp3unsigned ___________________________________________
Q. How do I add a signature to my message board responses with links to my music page? It's often confusing for members if no direct link is included to an artist's/band's music page as to who they are or what their music is like. If you are unsure how to add your signature please follow the instructions below to add your artist/band page link. 1 Logon to your artist/band page as normal 2 At the top of the screen in the internet Address bar highlight/select the text in the address bar - EG: http://www.mp3unsigned.com/showband.asp?ID=1212 &a; mp;a mp;n bsp; or http://www.mp3unsigned.com/myband.asp 3 Right click onto the text & choose Copy 4 Access the Message Board & logon (if not already logged in) 5 Click Settings on the menu above 6 Choose Edit Profile on the Member Control Panel Menu 7 Scroll down to Signature field 8 Position your cursor in the text box & right click, choose paste & enter the link to your band page. 9 Edit the text to include the necessary url code as follows:- [url=http://www.mp3unsigned.com/showband.asp?ID=1111]Artist or Band Name at Mp3Unsigned[/url} 10 Replace the last bracket } with ] 11 Click on Signature Preview & a window will open with the correct link to your music page - to verify you have done the above correctly click on the link & your band page will open 12 Close the preview window & scroll to the bottom & choose Update Profile Q. How do I add new events to inform people about where and what I'm playing? Another feature for you guys to use.... If you have a gig or whatever and want to let folks know, post on here... http://www.mp3unsigned.com/Calendar.asp Q. I'm trying to upload an image, and I am getting an error message... what is wrong? First, make sure the image you are attempting to upload is in one of the formats mp3unsigned accepts (.gif, .jpg). Next, make sure the filename is simple and short, with no spaces or funny characters. "Image.jpg" is a good filnename "Me at the Pub!~~.jpg" is probably not going to work. Next, make sure the file is as small in size as possible. Although we do not have a limit on file size most users will get frustrated if the page distorts too much OR if they have to wait too long for the file to load. If none of these things work, it's possible that the image is corrupted. Luckily there is an easy solution. Go to http://www.download.com/ and download a copy of the software program IrfanView. IT'S FREE and you can use it to resize images so they're small (in all senses), or resave images that may be corrupted. Once you have downloaded and installed IrfanView, simply run the program, open your .gif, or .jpg image, and resave it as another version (example: in IrfanView, open file named pic01.jpg, and resave it as pic01b.jpg). Then, simply return to mp3unsigned and upload your newly resaved image. Q. How do I add a banner image to the bottom of my posts on the message boards? Upload the image you want to use to your gallery area - you can make
it hidden by checking the appropriate box then go to your profile
settings here and put the following code in your 'signature' area
making sure to change the appropriate details and brackets (URL=paste your page address here)(IMG)paste your image address here(/IMG)(/URL) but use normal brackets, [ ] instead of the ones shown above. Your picture address can be found by clicking on the
properties of the pic in your image library to reveal the http address
needed and paste it into where your image address should go. As it currently stands this post is only starting and so is brief BUT it will grow. Edited by Management1 |
