I finally took the plunge and decided that today was the day I am going to give up smoking!AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Cry it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard...

I have fallen out with everyone today......kids are away tonight luckily....but the rest of my family have got it in the neck..........I've had to lock myself away and have been in bed most of the day pulling my hair out...I'm like 100 times worse than I am on my period.......this always happens when I try and give up and usually someone sticks a cigarette in my mouth becuase they can't handle it.....................is it just me or does anyone else get so angry????Ouch

Appreciates that the lows make the highs feel all that much better!....waits for the carefully thought out backlash...10 mins.....15 mins damn you ain't quick enough..hehehe haha

Niceone Saph Clap

It was kinda easy for me to give up cigs after the first month or two off them, i stoped about 4 years ago.  And recently i've stoped smoking weed, its been about 2 weeks now, so i know what ya mean about getting angry/irritated at things LOL When ever i think about lighting up a cig, i just think about how much better i feel without all that smoke in my lungs and that is usually enough to get me though the day without one. But it is so hard for that first month or two, so try to stick with it Saph Thumbs%20Up

Eh Saph, I smoked for 14 yrs and it took me about 4 months to quit!  Is this info helpful... well yes because I went to the docs in the end and got prescribed Champix.. After 3-4 months of patches and gum which only replace the nicotine I was cured within 2 wks.  Champix blocks the nicotine receptors in the brain that cause all that havoc and it takes away all the pain of giving up, I could never imagine smoking a cig again because they also put you off smoking for life as far as I am concerned.  Take my advice, go to the docs on Mon and ask for Champix.

Wow I sound like a fecking advert but I swear to God they are a miracle cure lol.

I been without smokes for a week now. Done it without any aids at all. Pure willpower! If I can do it, anyone can!

Rule#1: You aint giving up. You HAVE given up. Get that straight and you will go forever.

I had a hellcold that helped me on my way tho. I was pure f*cking murder for 3-4 days to be fair. Now tho I am thru it all and into the wide blue sea as they say(?!).

Bear with it lady and just remember that smoking causes free radicals. Those things AGE you. You a good looking lady and ya dont wanna lose that now do you?

To be honest, the amount of energy and time I can pour into things is astounding. My concentration is limitless now too. I always had to stop playing guitar, conversations, whatever to smole. now I get it all done no probs.

This is what you are heading for lady. Dont fall off please as you will lose all these good things!

I quit smoking.  It's tough, but you just have to take up something else in its place, like chewing gum, or crack.

Just kidding.  Hang in there--you'll wonder why you ever picked up a cigarette when it's all over.

I am soooooo dissapointed with myselfCry.....I can't even go a day.....I went and brought a packet of fags.......yes it has taken away my anxiety but now I feel a complete failureUnhappy trouble is I am under so much stress at the moment....my teenage son is making my life hell, I think I will go to the doctors on Monday and ask for those tablets Gav.....I'm not exagerating when I say that when I try and give up I feel literally suicidal. I haven't stopped crying all day....I have other reasons for crying too but not having a fag was making it 100 times worse. Thanks Black Wookie for the compliments about my looks (if you saw me right now you'd eat your words lol I look a wreck. I really do want to give up but I find the withdrawal symptoms unbearable...........am I a failure.....I can try again though eh??

Remember that nicotine is harder to give up than crack cocaine so don't be hard on yourself Saph.

I've been without for weeks at a time but I prefer just to limit myself to the ones I enjoy, like after dinner or when I'm having a few drinks.  That way I don't have to give up but also I don't have to be a dedicated smoker all the time and have breaks at work.  I never smoke during the day either, just in the evenings after a drink or at weekends.

Every time I think about having one outside of those times I just think how will I feel afterwards and that normally puts me off.

I sufferd a lung collapse a month or so ago. The dr said as an ex smoker it made me more prone to this type of trauma. I packed in 10 years ago when we were expecting our first child - If I hadn't done so I'd have been in a bit more distress than I was- I hate to think what my breathing would be like now! Good luck to you - find a focus and fight head on - the first month or two are the hardest - you may find that start to miss them in a nostalgia way rather than crave them. I lit one up for my poorly brother a year or two ago and it really did taste like, well, you know...

I really need help in this area! seriously!   I know i need to quit badly, and would love to have the will power to handle it like essence, just a couple or three a day... i smoke many out of sheer boredom or plain habit and find myself not enjoying the smoke but doing it anyway!

Is champix available in the US... that sounds like the scientificly right way to do it and would like to try that... any info...

I feel for ya Saph...  it is NOT easy and I kicked coke years ago cold turkey and never looked back, that was hard, cigs are much more relentless in the withdrawal.
