So what choices does a young musician have, when they finally realise that they may lack the talent to ever master the skills neccessary to go pro? Two really; A) become a drummer. B) Compose. I opted for option B, (having already failed option A), and have been composing in a mix of styles for the past 20 years. From a background incorporating influences from a managerie of styles, finding a suitable genre is no easy task. However I have settled on "pop", as most of my work, most unashamedly, is.Two of these three pieces show a leaning more towards dance music. Not because I really enjoy it more than other forms, just that, a) my voice is crap, and you need a vocal for pop/rock etc b) Recording dance straight onto the PC is easier than setting up the guitars and bass etc in home studio.
