Big Track Ricky,The bline is a real winner ...and the kick is mint.Cool vibe on this trance tune.
You know this is familiar to me :) Still sounding perky and driven Ricky! Stompy kick/bass combo is pert ;) Synth drives are ripe. Focused Mix. Good Luck in the comp :) ess x
Wow, Ricky! You got me thumping out of my chair right off the bat! Love that overkill bline and the echo FX. What a tune to move your groove to! Big thumbs!
Excellento!!!
The sound on this is so cool as the different sounds are being layered on the track. As each sound is introduced, I try following it through, so as the sounds are becoming layered my brain becomes jammed with keeping up with the sounds and the energy it produces takes over - I totally get why people dance to this stuff all night long, they have no other choice! LMAO!!! It's playing for a 3rd time now - and I'm still digging it!
Real solid kick dude. Cool slidey bline cuts thru nice :) Acoustic works really well in the breakdown with the voices in the background. The filtered snare rolls are sweet too.Wey hey! a keychange!.. noice :P Very full sounding mix m8...GL
Your titles are well cool - like the twist on a rather famous book and film. Another trance track? Not that i'm complaining as i think i prefer it best out of all the electronic music genres. Intensity and energy for sure - the beats and bass pumping and thumping away like nobody's business. The first break is simply gorgeous with the acoustic guitar coming in - wanted it to last a bit longer though. Great track Ricky - hypnotic with lovely melodic elements weaving in and out to catch and hold the attention. Nice subtle use of vocals too. Good luck in the competition mate. James
Nice one again Ricky! Feells like I'm falling into the depth of sound you've created. Love that break!!! What a track man. Love it. Good luck. Best, Eric

Whenever I see the word trance I come out in big red spots, a red mist appears before my eyes and I start to foam at the mouth, hurling invective hither and yon. Not, in any sense, my favourite genre simply because I've never found it challenging enough for me to want to wade through more than thirty seconds of the stuff. Ricky Mancini (aka MD-1 Project) gets enormous delight of
Although I've never really been a big fan of noise, even the controlled variety, one artist has managed to peel back my innate cynicism enough to grab quite a large foothold on my hard drive. Yep folks, the worlds's only (probably) freakbeat experimentalist has become a potent force over the last couple of years and - dare I say this - an envelope-pusher of the first order. Although it
There are a couple of versions of this MD-1 project track (Ed: him again!) on his MP3 Unsigned website; the original released in 2006 (and apparently Song of The Year too) and this version. Seemed only fair then that I should have a quick listen to the original before trying the remix/remake. Now do bear in mind that this track is essentially trance - albeit with the usual Mancini fekkry with ge
'Hope this scares the crap out of you' MD-1 Project smirked while lobbing this one at me. Now from anyone else, I say FOAD, but I know this musician of old and I know that he really, really means it. See, we butted heads a couple of years ago about just such a track as this (surprisingly enough called The Fear (May 2006)) which I didn't 'get' at all. Sure it put the fear of God i
When I first saw this track while downloading it, I noticed that I was being slipped a Dance track - and this from a usually impeccable source. Yes, awkward and idiosyncratic would also fit the bill when talking about the musical output of one Ricky Mancini (aka he of the Projects; MD-1 and Stella Polaris). Over the couple of years I have been listening to this very different musician,
World Eclipse MD-1 PROJECT - Review by Essence Hmmm lol – slightly confused as to why it is clipping visually but NOT audibly….? How do you do that then huh? Share……..NOW ;P It’s heavy that is for sure. Detailed. You have OCD for sure ;p lol…. I can see why I didn’t like your music initially, because it’s not simplistic in any way. And sometimes, back in the day, I loved
Or LaTinoTeKK to be absolutely precise but I'll be ****** before I do all that fiddly caps stuff. For all those people who have no idea what day it is, let alone who or what an MD-1 Project may be, let me cast some light. I have known Ricky Mancini (aka MD-1 P and one half of Stella Polaris Project) for a couple of years now and I've mostly enjoyed the experience. There has been
'Most of my tracks are on the dark side' says Ricky Mancini (aka MD-1 Project) completely forgetting that they are also a bit on the wack side, a bit on the 'ow me ears' side, a bit wtf and even a bit on the side. Arguably MP3 Unsigned's most famous denizen, MD-1 Project specialises in what I like to refer to as electronica fukry, the kind of stuff that messes with your head as well as your
Bit of background to start the review, I'm quite a fan of Ricky's stuff, especially the Stella Polaris Project, which as I have commented on many times actually has a good chance of succeeding in the real world (or beyond the confines of the site if you prefer), I also enjoy quite a bit of the MD-1 Project stuff, especially when he focusses on the dance floor side, some of the more purely industri

Sedici Anni (Elements Part 1) by MD-1 Project Oh my, oh my where to start on writing a few wordies on the distorted musical craziness that is MD-1 Project. Firstly I must point out that this is the second, (or is it now the third), outing for this track with it being released recently in its pre-production state in order to gain feedback, advice, critique & support from fans
MD-1 Project - Random Pain (Featuring Abeey Williams) Back again with Drum N Bass - those drums! For the past month or so, I've been trying to put my finger on what it is exactly I like about D&B drums and listening to this, it's hit me... It's the skilful combination of deep, technically programmed, thumping beats overlayed with delicately played, highly textural hi-hat and percussion work
MD-1 Project - Giugno Featuring Chris Shaw ...And another track by MD-1 Project that's blown me away a little - this time mainly because of the addition of a saxaphone to a track like this - totally trippy in it's own right and a little disconcerting. Upon getting to the artists page and hearing the track fire up, I was half expecting some kind of a small saxaphone sample to be repeated over an
Well what can i say. Mancini/md-1 projects best offering to date. It truly is. And you know why? the saxophone. The sax is produced to an f-in T. its just great. Read my lips, this will be number one this week All the music in the background are great also. i only have one thing about this track that i dont necessarily like as much as the rest of the son
Well, well, well, if it isn't Mr. Mancini with another classy track! Dark, dirty and disturbing, they're the 3 best words to describe this track. Incredibly, the lyrics manage to add to the appeal of the track, by not just being disturbing, but by having a noticeable hook to them. When read, the lyrics suit the mood perfectly, further perfected by their delivery and production, but they becom
MD-1 Project - The Fear Drum And Bass. Never really a genre I've delved into much, so here goes. This is some seriously dark stuff we're faced with here, laid together with a naturally felt manner of arrogance and abandon that just oozes from the speakers and down the walls, especially if you've got a system that can handle some serious bass. This music works, this music flows. Enough said.
My first impression when I put on this track is asif someone has opened a can of compressed energy ! Overwelming. The driving beat in this track has a very pronounced low end bassdrum and a mid filling snare. The half tempo beat that is layerd with it takes up de high mid range. After the intro (when that fab guitar lick steps in) the snaredrum get's a bit too busy for my liking, taking up a lot o
Ah, sorry for the long wait. I just have been working madly on my new song and got sidetracked by it and almost forgot about the reviews!! lol again, I’m sorry!! Well how do I start this review? This is the most well known person on the site, Ricky Mancini (otherwise known as MD-1 Project). He dwells in the darker side of electronic music (at least I’d say
I love this track! Its so refreshing and honest and huge even in its live setting. don't know this singers name but as soon as I know it i'm adding her as a personal favorite on any list. Love the band too! It won't be long before these guys blow up! laurie Webb of LOllieVoX
This is one for the clubs for sure. It's very very hard hitting techno in my opinion, whcih often points to repitiveness all the way, but this seems to rescue it's self from that horrid horrid place with some nice breaks and a nice feel all the way on this whole track i really enjoyed it from start to finish. Choice of sounds is always a nice feature to mancini's work and it can be seen h
Behind the shiny new name is Ricky Mancini, a name we are well familiar with now. I've reviewed three of his tracks so far and - to be honest - the jury is still out, if you know what I mean. I did kinda take to Use Your Noodle (January 2006) and - as usual - cut him a bit of slack because he was new. Mind you, if the track didn't stand up on its own it wouldn't have made any dif
Thumper, from MD1 Project, does exactly what it says on the tin. It, er... thumps. A techno blast from the word go, this is mainstream techno (if there is such a thing) with a slight retro feel to it. While admittedly not my genre, I decided to give this track a go after being won over by several other MD1-Project tunes. It's fair to say the Project dip their toes in all kinds
The Fearby MD-1 ProjectRight o' heres my 4th review, this time the tune to be dissected is Mancini's The Fear..Im going to review this track like the others, from a Dancefloor perspective as I think it's unfair of me to try and review from a Producers perspective as everyone I review is better than me!Ok then *breathe in* lets get started.....
Here we go again, first of all appoligies for my absence recently, its been due to a pile of work thats been heading my way!! but anyway enough of my life and on with the review i hear you cry!! Ok here goes, i have been doing reviews of the MD-1 Projects work for a good while now, and i must say it just gets better and better, this one however i feel its enjoyment will be limited to a cert
Bangin Techno. hard and fast. Love it!
This is a different style of track for Ricky, but I do like it, doesn't have really any melody at all, but is built on pure energy, has alot of industrial elements, which as some of you know is really my bag of potatoes. The programming is very well done, the recording gets a little muddy from time to time, but it doesn't at any point make it unlistenable. I like the break down at the end, bu
Now Mancini has been around a while now in his multiple guises, and has been quite a vocal member :o) Which is a good thing, I have visited his stuff before but not this side-project (I don't think) It has been the top of the User Charts for a long time now, and yet I havn't heard it ???? Go figure! Now when this song kicks in at the 7 second mark (after a nice opening), it is t
Mancini frequents the mp3 message boards a lot. He is really good about getting to everyone and really getting his name out there. I have personally noticed that all of this hardwork has paid off as his music is getting better and better with each track. This track is titled "The Fear". Great title because this song is freaking scary. The sexy girl talking in the backgroun
Review: MD1 Project: Ricky Mancini Process of Accountability. I've been watching Ricky the last few months. He really is such a bonus on here on mp3unsigned. Ricky is oozing talent and seems to have an endless supply of musical ideas. This track is an excellent piece of work. Structurally I can’t fault it. Ricky is an awesome producer. I love the fat bass sounds & the fran
Well well, what a nice suprise to start off with. I seem to have been lucky with my reviews they are always of top quality and i havnt had to say any really bad words yet, this follows suit. Let start with the bad points, it would be nice to see the drums do a bit more, they just sound a bit normal and same old to me after a while, the other thing is after the start it's kind of obvi
Track structure The track starts of at quite a high pace and really gets the adrenaline going from the start, it never looses its flow and the breaks although a lot slower then the main tune still seem to keep the song moving along nicely. The track breaks in the right places and kick back in nicely. I especially like the break at 2/3 where the glitchy type beat comes in, very cool. Musi
Well it looks like Ricky Mancini (aka MD-1 Project) has finally settled on a name! I've reviewed this MP3 Unsigned artist a couple of times now and been pleasantly surprised both times. With Use Your Noodle (January 2006) which first introduced me to this artist with the bold claim that he used no loops in this production, and its surprisingly good. Coherent and dynamic with an e
brilliant track !!!
very well produce !
techno meets hard rock , not often seen , and with the pseudo-political twist adding intrigue to the plot of this track .
i've heard a lot of this guys stuff and it contains some very new and interesting ideas !!!
ok here goes, the final review of my monday session, and a nice way to end it as well, not sure im such a fan of this track as some of ricki's other work, but its certianly right up there with production quality as with all his other tracks. This one is more of the hard hitting tehno sort, personally i wouldn't listen to this over and over again, becuase once its in your head you know wher
Well, this was a nice surprise, having never listened to MD-1 before, I am pleased to say you know have a new fan. I have chosen to do a review of Use Your Noodle.
excellent track man !!!!
like it very much !!!!
Although I only met him a couple of months ago, Mancini is banging the tracks home as if there were no tomorrow. This is my third Mancini track in as many months, and seeing as he hails from the musical city of the moment (Sheffield ya dummy!), I suppose I'd better have a little recap. Overall I liked Use Your Noodle (January 2006) for the way it incorporated electronica and electric g
First off, Mancini was probably the first person i met here in the short time i been here, and its certianly nice to be reviewing some of his work, since i first listened to his tracks when i first arrived here i knew he was a talented artist here, and this shows in this track in many elements. The drums in this track firstly is what makes it for me, they keep me interested and are quite capt
More commonly known as the man with a thousand names. Not sure what is going on with this artist; it could be that he is called Jesterfell or MD-1 Project or even just plain ol' Ricky Mancini. No doubt he'll be along at some point to put us straight on this. I first came across this MP3 Unsigned artist when I reviewed Use Your Noodle (January 2006) which I liked a great deal.&nbs;
Mancini is a good mate who has been frequenting the foroms of late. He has asked me to review his track "Use your noodle". This track starts out solid with a tight beat. I think i can catch a beat loop that comes in that i have used myself, i think from fruity loops. Its and half the tempo speed. After this a vocal sample comes in which resembles George Bush, the worst pre
Use Your Noodle by Ricky Mancini AKA MD-1 Project (Jesterfell) Anyone who has read one of my reviews will already know that I have a huge fascination with words and this one will be no exception. This is the first time I’ve reviewed Ricky Mancini AKA MD-1 Project (Jesterfell) and, having typed out his performing name I feel that I’m already halfway to completing itJ. Any
In case you are wondering what on earth the title means (ie if you are not English), it means to use your brains and nothing whatsoever to do with that slippy, wiggly eating stuff... Although I may know something about English idioms, I know nothing whatsoever about Ricky Mancini, although when I was a child I was bored rigid by the music of one Henry Mancini, hopefully no relation to
