Up With The Jones´s
I have never understood people wanting more than perfection....and love lives on the sunny side of the street after all...hell with the Jones's...they should wish they had half what I have in my poverty. Good lyric darlings....and as always you hit the spot musically for me. Forgive me for my late arrival...life is what happens when you're busy making other plans as Lennon used to say.
Lovely laid back vibe. There's a nice depth to the overall mix, the licks on the sax are sweet too.
Laura, you sound as luscious as ever. You guys are connected at the hip I swear. There's so much glue to all you track and melodies that it baffles. Originality and continuity make for stars in my book.
Laura and Baz, I love it .
New version up now and hope it sounds better. Many thanks to Andy & Eric for their suggestions. L&B;
Can imagine the work gone into this. Ace as always :-)
A nicely detailed backing track from Baz...light rhythms and the sultry sax define the groove...sweet track...then the lyrics exploring the green-eyed phenomenon...liked the twist in the line, "Thorns digging in from the vertigo crown"...gets to ya after a while :)...another classic DDS offering..keep them coming! Thumbs!
Sweet track guys. Love the light touch of the sax in this one. Great production always a touch of class from you guys......David
Just lovely, and a really interesting lyric. I enjoy the stories that are in your songs, a great listen. Thumbs, Gibbo
Hi guys. Hope all is well with you. Very soulful grove on this. Very interesting pan on Laura's vocals on the chorus. I also hear the compression and think it might need less allowing the track breath just a bit. I enjoyed this this very much. I'm glad to hear your music on mp3 again. Best,
Love the way you two tackle subjects like this :) Class performances and production, a bit dark and mysterious, and that vibe works so well with this song. Vocals and sax really stand out, but enjoying every bit of this. Thumbs up!
Ooooh....just so chilled and smoothed out! Sweetness just oozes in your tones Laura and I love that chunky pounding beat with super-sexy saxiness in the background. Nice little message going on too!! keith
Sweet song dudes and good topic (mainly associated with the fairer sex I'd say LOL). WTF does Mr Jones do when he needs to aspire to a go-getting neighbour. Maybe another song. Nice chord changes (appreciated dudes). Only small crit is: I didn't catch Laura's initial vocal line. Now ya know this should be important!! It's probably the bass thump and the compressor hold time keeping the music in "compression" for too long - you can adjust the hold time from default values to much smaller, or just reduce the bass at that point - it noticeably "squashes" the music OR use a multiband compressor - it's 5 compressors in one; each set to a particular band - I use a 5-band VST one (bass, mid-bass, mid, mid-treb and treble). Everything else fine and thumzup.
a laid back groove i just love the sax on this the vocals are great as usual great production as well you got my vote my friends

Ok...this is more of a comment than a review. Sweet Song! I had a lousy day today, was fooling around trying to relax, and this song did the trick. Everything fit so nicely when I closed my eyes it mellowed me right out. Thanks! &nbs;
