Pete 'N' Bass
As music genre's change all the time its hard to settle into one specific style. Futurscape experiment on different levels within certain genre's. The ability to create calming yet dramatic music has always played a big part in the production. As for inspiration? anything and everything. Whether its drinking heavily at 3 in the morning while playing around with Cubase & Fruityloops, or sat in a field with just a laptop at hand. Futurscape is't creating music to be popular but to create music that invokes emotions and feelings.
When did you become interested in Producing music?I think as far back as I can remember really. As soon as I could create notes from a computer of a device I became addicted. The production never really became a reality till about 1999 when my 1st decent PC had Cubase and Ejay Software. How would you describe your Music?Emotional, experimental....it?s hard to narrow it down to a specific description. I prefer to let people make up their own mind. The whole idea is to let people?s imagination run away.Who are your main influences? To be honest it?s a combination of life itself and people around me. It?s not so much a certain artist or writer or person as a specific point in my life. I have my heroes of course like most people. There are a lot of Drum & Bass artists I idolize, Goldie and Dillinja being my main 2. It?s the little things in life that influence me the most. Emotions and situations tend to be the biggest influence. What one track would describe you?None describe me as a person... I don?t tend to apply a formula to any track I produce. A lot comes from what I find from fiddling with sequencers and plugins. I?ll find a sound and work around it. I do find the piano a powerful instrument, one track in particular; ?Dark Dreams? probably one of my most popular choices. It does have a lot of emotion and portrays darkness and anxiety. But as u get into the track u find the lonely piano becoming stronger and more confident within its self. It allows you to connect with it and feel what it feels...it is possibly the loneliest track you?ll ever hear... A lot of people who listen to it pick it up straight away. I mean I love my music and have to find a specific sound to appreciate. So what would you say is the best track you?ve produced?Oh god... Possibly the one track that has the most attention is ?Dark Dreams?, I don?t like to single out one track but that has to that. ?Fusion? is possibly another, it?s such a simple track but the dark bass sequence produces such a unique sound I?ve never quite got it the same again. What is your favourite software for producing?I hate just relying on one specific piece of software. I give my right arm to FL Studio and Reason though. The ability to produce a single 4 minute track purely one piece of software has never been so easy. Cubase is great for finalizing projects and ironing out all the loose ends, so really they all play a big part.
hoping its worht the wait. new stuff coming, been away my attitudes changed slightly so darker and more dramatic DnB on its way
