Luke Sanders  (Indie)
The tuneless and bitter rantings of a frustrated idealist. Fuelled by coffee and despair.

Liquid (Pop)

Artist Comments
Guitar pop for the sake of guitar pop! An autumnal lyric set to a summery backdrop. I've restrained myself from going overboard with the anthemic proclamations this time. This pulses rather than surges. It was supposed to be written for piano, but the piano patch on my keyboard gives me nightmares, so I cut a great deal of it out. The vibe remains intact, though, so I'm still happy. (Edited to boost the volume, reinstate some of the piano and quieten the infernal tambourine)

There's not much to say. I'm a underpaid receptionist from Coventry, UK who records the odd track in his spare time. I've played different instruments in different bands and recorded a few demos. This is just an outlet for my own material. It's not much, but I hope something on here raises a smile. Also check out my old bandmate Paul James' website under Modern Composers. (If he bothers sorting it out any time soon) He's got a music degree so his music's better recorded and a lot freakier than mine, but I'm sure you're feeling up to it, gentle reader.

I wear most of my influences pretty openly. I'm a big fan of Robert Smith and Jarvis from Pulp, and I listened to a great deal of music from the late 70's and 80's. After listening to too much Wire, I became an obsessive cutter, trying to state everything in as few bars as possible, and recording urgently to try and capture some of the energy of DIY punk music. I learnt pop classicism from David Bowie and The Beatles, and I try to use that grounding as a springboard to anywhere.

Also, I play too many computer games. That occasionally surfaces in some tracks. Hope you have a high tolerance for silly bright synthesizer noises.
