At 26, smdge. has been joined by his close & talented friend Thomas McCann (24). Together they headed to a studio in London & put together a demo album & e.p. under the moniker; 'bruises'. Setting up their own tiny company to promote themselves & their various artistic friends, they now sell their works through the company's online shop & have gradually been gathering a faithful & ardent following through this site along with their band site &, of course, the obligatory giant that is myspace.com

Playing a series of acoustic gigs, they have now begun headlining various nights with a full band incl. violin & cello whenever possible. Gratifyingly, the impact has been rather sudden & generous as venue organizers as well as the audiences have been passionate in their responses, re-acting to both the intimate, stripped-back approach as well as the powerful, kinetic full-band renditions.

To pocket any band within a single genre is rather unfair, but smdge. skirt the edges of 'widescreen indie', falling, full stride, into stadium anthems & aching ballads, all sewn together with a refreshing intimacy, modesty, & honesty absent from most similar bands. Touches of various influences bleed through as hints of the obvious; 'Snow Patrol',  'Turin Brakes', 'Damien Rice', 'Badly Drawn Boy', 'Radiohead', &, of course 'Coldplay' all interwine & sift through the largely piano-led songs as a sound all of their own is delicately built up & broadened.

We hope that you take the time to listen to these few tracks, a very small sampler from their current album, & will get in contact if you want any more info, are considering adding them to your roster, are interested in managing them, or are perhaps just a little lost & lonely & want a chat.

We really appreciate you taking the time to notice one amidst the millions.
