Desert Scan (Experimental)
Artist Comments Ok .. This is a "True" retro track ..
All except "Greg" were recorded before "Midi" I had designed and built my own tape sync box to align parts via the "clock" port lol .. The main problem with my design, is I had to start from the top of the tune to be in sync, unlike SMPTE or Midi Time Code ... But hey, I was syncing to tape starting in '81 lol ---
... Basics on this were recorded in 1983 on an 8 track Otari 1/2" Tape Machine. The main instruments are a Minimoog (yes the lead ---and the funny backwards stuff -- which was a patch that I put on a tape loop backwards), a Roland Jupiter 8, a Mellotron -- yes the real deal (the String/Choir/Vibes), and a Roland CR 5000 Analog drum machine ... Along with vintage effects ... Fast foward to way back to 2000, and I had transfered this digitally to my Motu 2408 system, and Greg Gilmore (Mother Lovebone & k-lab) came in to add some cool percussion including "Rain Stick", "Talking Drum", an egg, some funny little bell thangs etc .. This is sooo twisted, cause there was no "Genre" for this at the time .. I have alot of these that I need to remix and archive .. I put this up cause so many folks here are electronica based --- And thought this might give a grin or two for those that love those old keyboard sounds :-) Enjoy! Ohh.. And the download is at 256K .. So should sound ok eh? :)
