My interrest for music began at the age of 5, due to my Uncle being into bands such as, KISS, JUDAS PREIST and other 70´s bands. One of the first thing I ever heard was Peter Criss´ drumsolo on KISS ALIVE. Shortly after I painted himself in the face, and wandered around sticking my togue out of my mouth all the time. In the year 1988, My Uncle took me to his first concert, MONSTERS OF ROCK in Germany. And not long after I started playing drums. My first concert was in 1990. Just for the fun of it my brother Henrik and I started a hardcore punk band called, ZOMBIES IN THE BEDROOM with Kenny from FROZEN SUN, and a dude named Damian. We played some concerts and had a lot of fun. Then I met Nick "HateTank" from FROZEN SUN. At the time I changed from drums to guitar, due to the fact that I wanted to be in the front of the stage. Guitar was the right thing for me, and FROZEN SUN began taking form during 1991. FROZEN SUN played and played through the years, and thanks to the crowd, this became a good time for me and FROZEN SUN. But in 1998 it all stopped. No more FROZEN SUN. This was a big wake up call, and a hard time....Since there was no one to play with, I began to hang out with strippers and silicone ho´s. Sex, drugs and alcohol was the thing in my life during 1998, 1999. Then it happened, a phone call from Michael Enevoldsen, the drummer from PANZERCHRIST at that time. He wanted me to join the warmachine. I accepted, and there was light at the end of the tunnel again. A Promo and the album "Soulcollector" was made...
But something wasn't right. It wasn't quite satisfying, so I went to U.S.A in dec. 2000, to visit a long lost friend. After meeting other musicians, and having fun, I got the idea to make another band, a band which he started. Due to the love for my other native country Germany, and mega-rockers RAMMSTEIN, everything was suddenly crystal clear. Mix techno and hard metal. Not like RAMMSTEIN, but with more intense techno beats and harder metal. 12GAUGE was born and sweet music was made. At that time I had my own house called 12G NATION where most of the 12GAUGE music is made. I was ready to show the world 12GAUGE´S version of music, called REBUS METALLUM. Now the year is 2005, and everything looks different. After the making of 12Gauge and the problems in Panzerchrist, I decided to make my own music in form of Kobeast. The name Kobeast came up due to my last name "Kopietz" I now just make my own music and try to get out my energy through brutal Death Metal and other musical inspirations. Thanks to my desire to play music and my good friends I now am ready to once again trying to make some cool music and find some people to play with... Stay informed by checking out www.Kobeast.com It will be updated on a weekly basis and new music is to be found as soon as I have made it!
