Nelson Ortiz has been playing music since his Jr. High school years, when he joined the school band to play in the drum section. From there went on to high school and studied music theory and music appreciation. Following High School took 2 years classical piano. Lacking funds to attend music school, His study of Composition, Arrangement, and Orchestration was self taught by this composer.

 

            In 1990, After the purchase of his first synthesizer, a Yamaha SY22, is when his love for New Age Music was exposed. Learning of other great New Age Artist such as, Mars Lasar, David Arkenstone, and Peter Buffett to name a few, He studied the structure and make up of New Age Music and started composing songs of his own.

 

            Along with his developmental efforts to expand his musical talent, he discovered his ability to write in other genres of music including: Smooth Jazz, Orchestral Film Music, Hip-Hop, and R&B.; Currently working with artist from all over the world such as doing Orchestral Arrangements for Acoustic Pop Sensation Samantha Seth in Scotland, Piano Music with Orchestral Accompaniment for John James Fox, Film Director in London, To Production Tracks for various Rap and R&B; artist in the US.

 

            Nelson Ortiz has a Writing Style and Sound Creation Technique that when heard leaves you wanting more and wondering where he will take you next. Not only does he compose music, But also creates Moods and Settings that take you places you could only Dream.
