LadyFOX, formerly The Owens Project, is led by LA-based vocalist/songwriter Michelle Ann Owens. Her original songs have been licensed for shows including "Amercia's Next Top Model", "Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew", VH1's "Driven", and many more. Her vocals can also be heard on "CSI: Miami" (CBS), "The Apprentice"(NBC), and George Lucas' upcoming "Clone Wars" (CW). Michelle served as the vocal coach on ABC's "All-American Girl" and as the Music Supervisor on NBC's "Hit Me Baby One More Time", hosted by the BBC's Vernon Kay. She worked both in the studio and on set with artists including Howard Jones, Sophie B. Hawkins, Tiffany, CeCe Peniston and more.
After years in the studio writing for other artists and doing tv & film sessions, Michelle finally brought together a solid mix of musicians to form LadyFOX. The band has broken out of a purely programmed set of songs to completely organic instrumentation with pulsing energy, catchy hooks & bluesy, rockin' grooves. Influences include artists such as Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Led Zepplin, & Bad Company. Michelle's voice & style has been compared to Nikka Costa, Pink & Stevie Nicks. LadyFOX will be releasing a 4-song EP this summer and will continue to gig live in the meantime.
